The one thing I dislike about the game is that roll checks become trivial with all the bonuses you get.

The thing with Karlach is that she doesn't want to align herself with slavers.. The cultists are slavers, and so are the duergar.. So she actually doesn't want you to side with either one of them.

Karlach's reaction may be from allowing him to kill the woman, and you don't see until after ? Or just your speaking with him, period.

Yeah, I looked into it and there are mixed answers. Some explain it as she just genuinely like nothing about the situation. Others say it's a bug.
