Holy Crap to the 2nd Quest! That thing is a beast and WAY more cryptic than the original. I can't even fathom how lost I would have been or the amount of time wasted on burning every tree or bombing every wall. I would have definitely never found at least 5 of the dungeons and missed every single Whistle Secret or Dungeon just based off of playing it by Quest 1 standards. My jaw is dropped.

The Zelda series to this day is still in my opinion the greatest video game series ever!!!! I was 11 years old when the first Zelda game came out and I loved how there was no way that you can beat the game in just a few hours or days. This was all before the internet so you could not have a guide to where you had to go. You had to think about every location on what to do. That is what I have always loved about this series is that you had to think about your every move. I remember it was Spring break on my 7th grade year and my goal was to beat this game. I stayed awake over three days and I finally beat it the first quest that is. I still have never Bea the second quest and maybe one day when I have time I will at least attempt to.

Play the game. Get a classic NES mini for like $30 from China. I feel a bit like that kid. It was a lot more work and required a lot of determination. My college girlfriend's little brother was playing this game the first time I saw it, and he was making a map of the overworld with what was in every grid and you could see how they were connected. I go to something now and then am like where the fuck was that and either can't remember or refind it. I think I made a map too. So, it took a long time, but that probably made it quicker. A truly ridiculous amount of work went into this. Crazy how much easier it is if you find an extra heart container and the next sword and have twice the damage. Anyway, try taking a break and playing it.

@Thelodis2 жыл бұрын
This is on a whole other level than the first quest. Although cryptic, there are clues to all the dungeon entrances, except the eight dungeon but you're supposed to to burn a bush that's in your way so it's kind of obvious. All the random secrets that leads to heart containers and the magic sword are optional even though it makes the game easier to beat if you find them. All the dungeons have some logical layout and you can beat them and find the items if you just look at the maps and visit every room. Now enter the second quest, and suddenly the bracelet is mandatory to find, you have to play the flute in random places, you have to walk through walls in the dungeons, even after you find the triforce and also bomb the least obvious places in the overworld. And that's coming from someone who grew up with the game and played it all his life.

Awesome video! I know a lot of people won’t believe me but I beat the first quest back in the 80s without a guide, map, or anything! We were poor so all of our games either came from pawn shops, second hand, or used. So none of them ever had guides or anything. The most frustrating part of my LOZ game was it didn’t save consistently like it was supposed to. I once got all the way to level 9 and it froze up. I was so mad! At any rate I finally beat it felt like the accomplishment of a lifetime! Also a true story: I had no idea the second quest even existed until the mid 90s(again I didn’t have guides or anything). But by that point I had already moved on to Super Nintendo, sega genesis, etc. When I learned the second quest existed I popped it into my NES and tried it. Boy oh boy was it a rude awakening. I think I got through maybe the 2nd dungeon and gave up lol. The “moment” had kind of passed. At any rate you’ve got me to thinking about going back and trying it again(as a 40 year old). At any rate I wonder if there’s anyone out there that has ever completed the 2nd quest without any type of guide? Seems impossible but who knows? Awesome channel! Gained a subscriber!

In the original on the NES, you had to die before you could save. Also, at the end after you beat the 1st quest, it tells you to press start for the 2nd quest. If you pay attention in this play through, you will notice it's patched together from multiple attempts. After the saves, you can see differences in how many rupees or bombs he has each time. They seem to vary a lot.

"SECRET POWER IS SAID TO BE IN THE ARROW" These words spoken by the Old Man in Level 5 in the 1st Quest alludes to the different method in the NES release to destroy the Pols Voices. In the original FDS release and the Japanese cartridge re-release, that had to be done through the mic on the second controller, and so the original clue spoken by the Old Man in that level was called "THERE ARE SOME CREATURES THAT ARE WEAK AGAINST SOUND" and it was also alluded to in the description for Pols Voice in the NES version's instruction book, but many players after having read that initially believed that meant the Pols Voice was vulnerable to the sound of the Whistle (or Recorder).

+Crimson King Mario is Nintendo's third best franchise (and the most widely known). I honestly believe that Metroid is their 2nd best IP. With Zelda being on top, which I think most people would agree with. Mario is too simply, yet too effective and could probably end up being more addicting. It has accessibility that the others don't. People can actually beat Mario games, without having to resort to a guide.
@Celestial079 жыл бұрын
Crimson King I think it's underrated. It didn't get many installments and there wasn't one for the N64. Yes, they may feel too mechanical at times and Mario is simplistic, yet very satisfying. Metroid is about the feeling of empowerment and it's not as interesting as Zelda, because you mostly search for Missiles and other items to increase their capacity or to acquire a new arm cannon (beam) upgrade or add-on (like in the Prime series, for example). I think Metroid is what it is, mainly for one reason.. The Prime Trilogy! Retro Studios did a great job on resurrecting Metroid and they made the transition so well from 2D to 3D. While with Mario, I was more impressed when '64' came out, since that game completely changed the entire formula and turned it into a totally non-linear experience, where you could choose which level you play and sub-quest to take on (for Stars).
@Celestial079 жыл бұрын
Still, I prefer the complexity of Metroid. The downside is that it can be a little cryptic at times and Mario is always more accessible and your progress never comes to a halt. It's very fluent and you can see that the main focus always was and is 'Level Design'. In that department, it reigns supreme, but I don't think it's as captivating as Zelda's dungeons. Nothing beats that! And I mean NOTHING!

How did he go from 14 rupees to 255 after lv 5??
@toffeecrisp8941 Жыл бұрын
I followed a tutorial to complete the first one but I think for this quest I'll do without. I'm going take my time and slowly figure things out using knowledge from the first game to guide me

Damn this guy makes it look easy, I beat Gannon, then I was like YEAH! Then they throw a 2nd quest at me, I thought that was awesome, it was soo hard to beat, burn every bush, push every statue, I dare the new generation try beat these no internet support. You make it look easy I would die sooo much I'm out of practice, no matter how careful I am I'm still going to get hit, and beating those darn nemesis, they killed me more than I got them 🤣.
