Oh, I remember playing the games when it came out. All the tips, tricks and cheats though I obtained second-hand from passing notes in class. The timeline is is skewed though in my mind. I probably have read a few Nintendo powers from friends or it could have been EGM's, Game informer or Gamepro, I honestly can't recall, never paid enough attention to the titles. These videos definitely takes me back for sure.

This series is awesome. You have a dry, sarcastic style that gives me a good laugh at least once an episode. We're about the same age, so seeing these magazines brings me all the way back to the age where video games (and Nintendo specifically) were a huge part of my life. Maybe it's nostalgia, but it really feels like the late 80s/early 90s were the golden age of video games. It's cool that I got to experience that as a kid.

Nice Work Nintendo power time machine series is awesome. When I was a kid my grandma had the subscription to nintendo power and we would read it at her house. Seeing that brings back memories. When we would spend time at her house we would read the magazine over and over again. It was another good episode.

It was good memory. She did not let me take them home they stayed there at her house. I think she knew that we would be bored if she did not have them there. She always had a big box of legs and nintendo power mags. Later as an adult I found the legos in the laundry room. The nintendo power mags were probably thrown out.

This might be a stupid question but how do you look directly at the camera but remember what to say? I’m making videos and I’m struggling with this

Well I actually write a script. I have the script in the magazine that I’m holding. I have text that I want to say to the camera in bold and text that I want to say while I’m looking at the magazine in regular font. I basically just try to remember the bold bit and then I looked down at the magazine and I’m able to read the rest. Of course it often takes more than one take. And I use shots of the magazine itself to make seamless cuts.
