1:12 starts talking about the machines, comparison 2:25 the differences 3:00 usability difference - Inissia doesn't have a on/off button. Doesn't mention - the height under the faucet seems higher with the Inissia. Also, the capsule container empty process seems different. I'm curious if the parts to clean will be different, too.

Pixie -have on/off button so you can turn off your machine after using it to save electricity -it has indicator light to inform you that your water is almost empty -the machine is made in aluminum -the side panel is made in recycled capsules Inissia -it will automatically shutdown after 9 mins of non use -the machine is made of durable plastic Just additional information to the 2 machines☺ Sorry If I have a bad English grammar.✌

As a Nespresso Coffee Specialist I can tell you that Pixie can save up up to 40% energy plus the brewing system in Pixie is different and thus makes the coffee faster.

I've had my Inissia for nearly a week now. It does what I want it to and without fuss. I love it. Although with the pixie you can change the sides. Maybe if people are fussed on decor that could be an advantage.

i think the difference is in the amount of crema. I used an Inissia for the first time today and the crema was not very high nor did it last very long.

I've got both machines and I prefer Pixie, hotter coffee and better taste. U can shut it off manually as well, no need to wait 9 minutes auto off.

Love the Pixie. Yes I know about the price difference. Just bought a brand new Pixie at the Nespresso store in Virginia for about $132. The Inissia is about $100 so it was about a $32 difference but oh well it brews great and much better than Starbucks espressos.

I have the Pixie for 5 years now and it is not working properly anymore. I was gonna get it fixed for 120BRL (+-40 usd) but there´s a special deal ending tonight where you can get the Inissia for 249BRL (+- 85 usd) and you get 100BRL (+- 33 usd) back in capsules, and you can pay it splited in 10x, whereas to get it fixed would be the 120BRL at once. So I´ll keep my broken old Pixie resting in the corner for a while (may get it fixed someday) and get a brand new Inissia. I think it´s worth it. Thanks for the comparision!

The pixie is metal looking plastic, same as the inissia. Both have metal handle. Only difference is price. They even make the exact same coffee of the exact same quality. No difference in espresso quality between the two machines.

What about the construction and durability? Are both metal framed construction? The handle on the Inissia looks to be plastic whereas the Pixie is metal. Are there any issues with breakage?

Did you open them to compare the mechanism & internal component quality? Maybe the motor is the same, but I would like to know more about the reliability and quality of assembly of both (vibration of part when working, noise level of both, internal part and tubing tickness & assembly)

+Catherine Turgy THAT WOULD REQUIRE TO MUCH WORK seriously though my thoughts exactly. The innards are much more important then the pretty outside. No info on vibration or noise or safety. These machines boil water in a "pressurized" tank. I would like someone to follow up with the pretty parts removed so we can see how they work. Nice post and I applaud your incite

Catherine Turgy you've probably settled this issue by now haha but the Pixie is made in Switzerland and has aluminum parts. inissia is plastic and made in China. also the Pixie has a light to indicate low water which in reviews people really appreciate... hope that still helps a year later!

Catherine Turgy so as far as quality the Pixie is better. probably longer lasting hence the higher price.... also though apparently the Pixie is louder.. overall, $100 difference for more durability... maybe worth it

The pixie is mostly metal looking plastic, the sides and almost everything. The important parts in both machines are metal, like the handle and other parts for example.

My Inissia started having problems after a couple of months (blinking won't work) and I had to keep unplugging it to make it work. Probably just bad luck 90% of the reviews on Am Italy are positive. I returned it and bought a Pixie. But the difference in Italy was only 40 euros and with the pixie I got 20 euros of capsules more. However given the same size I doubt they have a different motor or electronics. One advice: if you wan't it to be coffee shop warm preheat the cup in the microwave while you load the machine.

Warm up the cup: no need to microwave anything. Just run a shot without capsule into your cup. Empty cup. Run with capsule. This flush is also recommended to clean and heat up the water path.

All Nespresso machines give the same quality of espresso. Aside from the ones that have milk frothers you are just paying for the design / styling of the unit if you buy one of the more expensive models.

From the literature it seems that the pixie is suppose to be faster. "25 sec heat up time" but i don't know how this compaires with the inissia. Did you notice a difference?

NOTE to author: It has on/off INISSIA: ON: push and hold both buttons. OFF: push and hold both buttons. There IS an on/off switch I bought a like new Inissia from someone who never used it for 30$. Works like a charm. I formerly had a Nespresso U that I gave away. The real reason I bought another one is to try filling my own after market capusles (capsul'in system supposedley works well) with my own freshly ground coffee. Has anyone tried capsul'in to make their own capsules? What is the result? I am also looking at trying a Box of 100 Nespresso Carioca (brazil mid intensity) Compatible capsule by Tiziano Bonini Caffe. for about 30 bucks. Anybody tried those capsules? Machine: I like this one better because its manual. The U i had is motorized and ejects the capsule automatically. So if for some reason you wanted to send a bit more juice through the capsule after your shot, you cant with the U. Also, the U has the touch buttons, which are pretty sensitive. Its also bigger than the red one.

Inissia vs Pixie: Here in Sweden they cost 50 USD vs110 USD. My Pixie, well used during five years (that is the limit of the warranty) just recently start to behave a bit odd. So I bought one Inissia as a back-up. Shame shit different name really.

The important thing I discovered on the net is: "INISSIA", over time tends to deform and lose water under the machine while the "PIXIE" do not get deformed and lose water because where there is the pump/boiler connection, they have a safety valve which when the nozzle is blocked (and fails to vent when making coffee), leaks from the safety valve while INISSIA, not having the valve, puts the boiler under strain, deforming the plastic part (spout) Here is my first use video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/opzOgqyZi5d8jtE

Inissia: I flush the machine into my glass cup with an empty shot (recommended). I empty my cup which is hot after that. I then run a shot. I can tell you it is hot, steaming in fact. Hotter than with the U machine I had.
