Since the heater core is made of an aluminum alloy, I would be VERY hesitant using any lye-based product like Drano. The Drano website states that it will not harm metal, but I'd still be reluctant to use on an aluminum heater core; I just had to un-clog my heater core recently and I did it the same way shown here but I used CLR which did make a big difference. First, I flushed the heater core with pressurized garden hose which did blow out allot of crap, then I added a mix of CLR & H2O, let it soak for 10 minutes, then re-flushed with the pressurized garden hose and allot more crap came out due to the CLR mixture.

Wheel acid works the best. 5 minutes flush it out and its like new. Dont leave it in more then 5 minutes is key. The acid reacts with the metal and anything stuck will be released. We do this at work with a 90% sucess rate and its cheap.

titles slightly misleading. I dont see that this would be any faster than the traditional CRC or Vinegar or other methods, Still gotta access the inlet /outlet lines & remove hoses & prep & all the traditional stuff regardless. only difference is using drano

Drain car coolant. Fill radiator with white vinegar let car run 15 to 20 min with heater blowing and drain vinegar and refill with coolant. You should be good. Thank me later ☺️

At the end.of video. Junk in bucket looks like antifreeze silica. I have never liked silica antifreeze and or extended life antifreeze.
