Netflix Avatar Full Trailer Analysis

I think the impressive thing is just how smoothly everything is going with the marketing roll out, so far everything has been received very well, so once they keep putting out bits and pieces over the next few weeks they will have truly nailed the pre-release stuff. Really get the sense that this is going to be a massive hit and while a live action adaptation is not super exciting for me in terms of Avatar I am excited to see just how big Avatar is going to get again when this releases.

Gyatso's opening line is a bit strange. At that time (before Aang ran away), the war had not started yet. Though people could see it coming, perhaps due to the colonisation of Earth Kingdom territories. However, despite the brewing war, Gyatso was the one who didn't want to put any pressure on Aang. He didn't want Aang to have the responsibility of the world on his shoulders, and to lose out on having a normal childhood. This line makes it sound like Gyatso would be in agreement with the other monks. It also specifically mentions that the Fire Nation was the one throwing the world out of balance, whereas I don't believe Aang knew anything about the Fire Nation potentially starting a war before he was frozen in the animated series.

I just hope that giving Zhao and Azula more to do, doesn't take away from Zuko's antagonistic role in book one. His character arc might not mean as much if we don't see him do a lot of bad stuff first before we feel more sympathy for him.

The ships are the ones that appear in the siege of the north episodes, the face in the front of the ship is the same as on the ship where Zhao was, I think it's a dragon.

so i saw the trailer and while this LOOKS good i am wry of if i hope it is good lol but i want to know the reason why mike and bryan left the production what where the "creative differences" i guess we will find out the actors seem on point and the voices are great the look is on point, the only one that i'm iffy about katara i'll need to see more

I think they just wanted to focus all their time on Avatar Studios, since they'd have total freedom there.

The biggest question now is are they going to release it all at once or week by week?

I feel it is all but confirmed to be all at once, as much as I REALLY wish they would break it up even a small bit with groups of episodes per week. I think they are very much following the Netflix One Piece rollout and that released all at once. I think Netflix just really likes those big day one numbers that all at once brings. That said we will see what they have to say on this as we get closer to release.

​@Louis1059 That's why I prefer it that way. I don't mind if they want to do a two episode premiere, but I prefer the show lasting for several weeks, giving the fandom time to react, discuss, analyse, and speculate together. I love the idea of looking forward to each episode. Also I watch Avatar with my father, but we don't live together, and be usually only watches a couple of hours of TV per day. I won't watch it without him, but I absolutely REFUSE to have anything spoiled for me through thumbnails or anything else.

I’m glad someone else thinks this!! The visuals are fine and all, but every single line read we got was awful imo. Hopefully they use better takes in the show
