Another major differecen betewen LA CB and LA OP is that while it is true both shows got the approval of the original creator to be made...Oda has been fully on board since day one while the creator of CB, Watanabe was NEVER involved in the slightest. He only gave them the "ok" basically it went like this: Netflix: Yo we love your anime, we want to make a faithul live action adaptation for it! Watanabe: Ok cool you seem like people I can trust, to the point I won't even need to get involved in it, can't wait! And yeah it failed and Watanabe himself said he HATED the adaptation but Oda said he LOVED what he saw from the production. If the creator loves it...then you know there is hope. Not to mention so far, all of the actors have remained positive about the experience as well as towarsd the fan base and original source. When asked about the project, they all said pretty much the same thing, they are gonna stick to the original source as much as possible, that's it. As opposed to some stars from the live action CB where some of them have the nerve to say their version is an "improvement" from the original, saying the original anime was "problematic" which is something the cast of LA OP have not done.

I think a key thing for the Anime-Only folk to recognize, is that this is a Manga adaptation. Even the Anime didn't adapt everything the Manga had. Neither will the LA most likely, but they will also be in a spot to adapt things that the Anime couldn't. Last thing I want to hear is fans complaining that it's not faithful to the Anime if the show is being faithful to the Manga

I'll say this. If Netflix does manage to Crack the code on how to make these live action adaptations work and Net Piece does end up being a success, you KNOW there will be a mad scramble from other studios to get the rights of other popular Shonen jump series and start their own adaptations. Very likely the next ones we will hear about will be either Naruto or My Hero Academia.

I sincerly doubt so. As One Piece Live action Adaptation is a anomaly. This Live Action has 3 Things other live actiob will never have. The Creator Heavily Involve, the Budget, and lastly the Passion/respect of the Series. 99% Live Action Manga/Anime Adaptations doesnt have those. Also Naruto and My Hero Academia Live Action already in Productions.

@@roger_towny_jr Thats exactly why I not in favour or think that just Because If One Piece succeeds, other adaptations will follow suit. i doubt Studios ever learn from One Piece if it succeed. It took 6 Years into production for it to make it Happen. 6 years is a long time. Also hopefully ppl dont be so hopefull for other Adaptations as well, keep your Skeptics high, as more then likely, most of it will end up more like Cowboy Bebop then One Piece😅

One Piece Netflix will be a success because it has been created by people who are fans of the manga and anime even the creator Oda and his team were with them. They created it with a lot of effort and love, that is the difference between those other anime live action adaptations.

Yeah, the videos on this channel pretty consistently stay dead for the first 5+ hours, then suddenly blow up (except for those that outright flop). It seems to take a while for KZbin to connect them to the right audience.

Too me the biggest test for the success of one piece is how they do Nami. So the far the trailers have only shown her too be stoic. But that is likely just because the trailers focus on intense scenes. Anime Nami has a wide range of emotions, from expressive extroverted energy, too being serious and too the point. She is a complex character. But big budget productions tend too be restricted in what they can allow female characters too do. So I hope they could have Nami be Nami, Which includes occasionally showing her greedy, swindling, and cowardly side.

It has high % Succeed with the fanbase of anime and manga. Not so sure about normal audience in US or worldwide. Probarly not Game of Thrones successs yet. GOT took 2 seasons to be popular and succeed anyway.

Here is another reason one one piece has a good chance of success. Expensive adaptations generally have a hard time dealing with profesionall and intelligence people, like the Witcher, and dumb the characters down in order to create more drama. They prefer characters who wing it, over characters who bring pre-knowledge to solve a problem. But with one piece, winging it, intuition and bravery is the spirt of the whole show. Those things Netflix can do. I think one Piece will be a great success, but I still wouldn't trust studios too do other anime such as attack on titan though, that has actual smart, tactical battle strategy. They can only do emotional teens.

Success yes. But not Game of thrones type of Success. Game of Thrones did not peak successs till Season 2 anyway. And Hollywood is known for shunning Anime/Manga adaptation content..so.

I will never understand why Anime Adaptations get so much attention. I watch anime because i like seeing the animated art. Why would i want to watch these characters portrayed by real humans? I understand it a little bit for the Japanese audience. Japanese live action shows are often quite low budget compared to western shows. But for westerners, this isn't something new, right?

That type of imagery can only be done in live action form and captures everyone’s inner child, that’s the appeal of live action. Let me ask you this, did you not feel hyped when you watch the first iron man or tobey’s Spider-Man?

The One Piece anime itself is only an adaption (which could often be so much better) so you could also easily say: I will never understand why manga adaptations get so much attention. I read them because I like seeing the drawn art. Why should I want to watch these characters when they are animated? Nearly the exact same sentences were uttered before the MCU appeared.

For me , it is not so much that I want too see a live Action one piece, as I want to see a version of one piece with more realistic characters,. Anime Luffy is so niave, with little mental flexibility. It is hard too see why people like Shanks or Jimbei would ever put trust in him. But in the live action Luffy we have seen, it is very easy too see why people gravitate too him. The anime has its strengths, but I dislike that the characters are so exaggerated ,just for the purpose of comedyl.

Tbh they should have Sanji's evebrows. If Zoro can have green hair, and Nami orange and buggy can have his crazy nose then why exclude Sanji? There is a reason why he has those.

My take on this is that any cosmetic changes are probably because they tried to be faithful, and it ended up looking too goofy, or cosplay-ey and probably didn't fit. I can't imagine that they didn't even at least try. I'm trying, as a hardcore one piece fan, to be open to changes and tell myself that said changes were done for a good reason, and that helps me keep an open mind and limits how much I'm going to nitpick the small changes, and also accept the larger ones.

@@IndianaJakeisanIdiot I get the goofy part, but I don't believe that there was no happy medium/ no 'weird evebrows'/ even not as swirly as in the anime/manga but strange enough for Zoro to make fun of . ...it could be fuuny tho if in the middle of the series it would turn out that Sanji was shaving those off, or something like that

I am of the belief they tried, but it was hard too make it look good, particularly since Sanji is supposed to be a suave character. It is hard to make the eyebrows appear as a casual comsetic style, instead of a life changing ordeal. I mean in the anime I never noticed he had the eyebrows. But in live action, eye brows like that could easily drown out other cosmetic traits, and it becomes all you see.
