this video wasn't planned to happen but after I just finished the live action Avatar in order to make ANOTHER video I just had to make a zuko compilation. He's just such an awkward, anxious lil' guy.
Yes, I had to record it on my phone. Don't judge me.
Also Netflix please don't sue me I know this is a lot of footage but I spliced it up and edited it (and also it's really low quality because again, I recorded it on my phone) it's not like anyone can pirate the show off of this.

The joke is not gonna hit as hard coz of how much they overplayed Zuko's awkwardness already. Zuko is mostly supposed to be broody and hot-headed initially. His awkwardness shouldn't be highlighted to the audience until he's in earth kingdom.

The Fire Nation has ceremonial hairstyles, a ponytail shows loyalty to the Fire Nation (which is why Iroh and Zuko cut off their ponytails in book two when they're lone in Earth Kingdom) and the shaved rest of his head signifies his banishment. I don't think they ever talk about it directly in either show but I think it's discussed in supplementary material.

I cant stand this version of Zuko!!! I dont see why people say Zuko was done perfectly... dudes whining in literally every scene (used for exposition) but bro, u're Zuko! Not anywhere near as driven as cartoon version... Aang escaped in ep1 without any effort whatsoever... Every scene :"its been 3 yrs since I was banished, ohh poor me!" Dude stfu!! Best way to summarize it, Netflix Zuko feels like he WANTS to capture Aang whereas cartoon version NEEDS to capture Aang, and will do so under any circumstance, and he doesnt care about anything else other than Aang... Iroh cant control him (Thats actually where most of the humor between the interaction comes in, the contrast between the two)... in ep2 of the cartoon, Zuko refused to let Aang escape, he went overboard trying to stop him... He was ruthless... Cared not about anything other than Aang and he slowly changes during the show. Not once did he complain (He doesnt even say thats its been 3 yrs since he was banished until season 3, once he returns while talking to Mai) he was prepared to die... super hot headed... The dude was evil af throughout season1... whereas the Netflix version is a pathetic complaining & whining version of the character. Sorry for the rant... just that Zuko was one of my favorite characters & the Netflix version is nothing like him, not even remotely similar Iroh sucks too The show is 3.5/10 ...2.5 of which comes from the visual aspect
