S T, I disagree I think she had some of the best character developments out of the characters, to start off with Piper ran after the perfect planned life that had been set out for her by marrying Larry, she chose him because she didn’t like the uncertainty of Alex and the disapproval she brought with it. Piper said to Larry “you’re running on an old version of me” meaning she knows she’s changed she isn’t that same person anymore and she proves that by not following Zelda (who is Larry but better) to Northampton, which she would have done a few years back because Zelda also creates that picture perfect life - reputable job, apartment and money, Zelda runs in the “same circle” as Larry and Piper’s family so would win approvable. But new Piper abandons all that, she runs after Alex despite all that but not in the naive way she did in season 1 where her choices were either based on Larry or Alex. Now she works on herself, she has her own apartment, she has a job and presumably her own car since she lives in Ohio away from her brother. She chooses to have Alex in her life in a healthy way but she doesn’t need Alex or someone else to survive (in season 1 after Larry dumped her she ran after Alex because she always ‘needs’ someone). So that’s a few of the reasons how I think she’s evolved. There are a few more but this comment is long enough.

I know Taystee has found a purpose but I just feel so bad for her situation she's going to take the fall for something she didn't do and she's paying the rest of her life for it when everybody knows she's innocent. Tyasia Diggs I have a feeling she’s going to get justice. I feel like they hinted at that. Because like warden ward told taystee, better days will come. pennstucky ended up overdosing because she thought she didn’t pass the GED and she felt stupid, and ended up killing herself over it when in reality she passed it and just needed to be patient and wait. At that moment I think when taystee sees that pennstucky did pass the GED she realizes “wow all she had to do is wait” and rethinks taking the drugs to kill herself. I like to believe that taystee does find a purpose and will end up receiving justice one day, she just has to wait.

oitnb's purpose is to reflect real world issues, and it does it beautifully- but it's a double-edged sword. you can't make a hit show off of just realistic reflections of modern day america; everyone's too used to that everyday on the news. because the writers added what people wanted (interesting, illegal, "taboo" things to spice up their story, like sex, drugs and death) in every single season, some ppl just want an end to all of the over the top dramatic stuff and just wanted to finally see something happy for once (daya and aleida not fighting like they did all the way from season 1, wanting alex and piper to be happy together since season 1, wanting flaritza back together, wanting taystee to have justice, etc) it's not that people don't get why taystee and pousseys story is realistic, it's just that the show itself is hypocritical. penn's final arc and death was 100% unnecessary, so now it just feels like someone HAS to die every season for some reason

Season 7 Spoiler (though not sure if people care if they're looking up people's last lines): Everyone brought their A++ game this season, but I can't help but notice Elizabeth Rodriguez's (Aleida) final scene was acted so... perfectly. In just a few seconds, we see so many conflicting emotions. Disbelief, rage, heartbreak, remorse, determination, all in a few seconds with nothing but her eyes. You can see her simultaneously scanning her daughter's face trying to see the old Daya she once knew, then quickly accept that she isn't there anymore. That's a darn rare level of acting and it's a privilege to watch it used in such a powerful scene.

She had to clean up her environment. In New York she was surrounded by people who thought they had her whole life figured out and tried to make her into what they thought of her despite her making it clear from the beginning what she wanted. Moving to Ohio and starting over and even still seeing Alex was the best ending she could've had.

i really loved pennsatucky. she went through so much and as much as those around her tried to help her grow and see what she was worth, she was unable to stop beating herself up. seeing her die was absolutely heartbreaking for me and was not the ending i was expecting. having her ghost give a very pennsatucky style send off was emotional as well, she deserved better and i wish that she lived to see what she was capable of and that even though she struggled, she still passed the GED. i think it was very bittersweet of them to show taystee receive her certificate. i feel that the one good thing to come from her death was that it helped to show taystee how hopelessness can make someone forget all that they have going for them, and instead of going through with the suicide she kept pushing, which i’m proud of her for considering her hopeless is completely understandable due to her wrongful life sentence

Red's arc was so heartbreaking for me, probably the most out of all of them. She went from being this prison powerhouse mama who couldnt be knocked down, to losing everything after going through so much shit. As a viewer who became super invested, it's like losing some in your life who was always strong and grounded and, in turn, made you feel the same way.

She was involved in the coverup of several murders, she made her bed and deserves whatever she got. It's a shame her husband isn't in jail too. I wonder how he got away but not red.
