Netherland Dwarf Rabbit 101: Part 1

Be very careful when keeping Netherland dwarfs outside. Rabbits regulate their temperature through their ears and since netherlands have such small ears, they are more prone to overheating/freezing.

Absolutely brilliant! Mine is a sable point lionhead. He started white aggressive but is now more loving than any rabbit I've ever had. Health issue wise nine sadly has seizures but his personality is larger than life. Brilliant informative video

I have a netherland dwarf bun and he is the cutest! Although has a attitude 🫣 For dwarfs, I recommend yall hand - feed the netherland dwarf buns to gain their trust once they warm up to you! that worked wonders for me. Good luck if yall are thinking about getting one! (you won’t regret it) ❤

Rabbits should not be kept in cages. They need to be slowly but surely free roamed in a rabbit proofed area of your home. Water bottles are not a great idea, better to go for a bowl that you change the water in daily.

That's true, they get more dehydrated when using water bottles.

Not everyone can free roam a bunny i would say if tou give them a room or a large dog playpen they should be fine.

I do both the water bottle why the bowl bc that’s what he expects…and he’s kind of a spoiled dude but I agree. It’s also good for bunnies to have a hide out and space they feel is there’s.

Or just leave a cage open on the floor with their food and water inside to promote “litter box” training. After getting familiar with my rabbit’s behaviors, she’s cage free and has the entire apartment to herself

You should cut down on the food and mine kept escaping my playpen I made for him. I recommend you don’t use a playpen for him. ( depends on personality btw!!! )

@@chelsealonghway8457 they’re pretty easy to handle. Alfala/timothy hay and water. Remember fruits & veggies are like desserts for bunnies. You can get the little bags with pellets and mixed flavored dried fruits:veggie bags but you don’t have to. Let them run around and get comfortable in the home. If you have to put them in a cage make sure the girls and boys are separated. Overall they’re really sweet bunnies. Get them some little twigs or something to chew bc they love borders of the walls because of the wood

That is very very bad using bottom cages for rabbit homes. They are best relaxed when they have a bigger outdoor house, Wow, they have a low milking yield when their babies are more than 8. I miss raising them too, what do you think about chinchilla breeds of rabbits? They are the best breed i have reared when i was still into the business. I can't stop telling people about my medical profession because it made have another perspective of lives as a whole..

This is the most misinformed rabbit video I've ever seen. RABBITS SHOULD NOT BE KEPT OUTDOORS! AND NOT IN A CAGE! Rabbits should be free roamed in an indoor space and should drink water from a bowl not a bottle as these can cause dehydration and over time can gather bacteria which can be harmful for buns.

Rabbit, can be kept outdoors as long as it’s in a clean environment with a heater, not all rabbits feel safe indoors, and some people can’t let their rabbit Rome free. Also it would actually be safer to use a bottle as long as you clean it weekly, as it is possible for droppings to get in the water when your not looking and they drink it causing health issues . But we know people who also keep their rabbits inside- with cats and it’s just as safe, so as long as you keep your rabbit safe and happy it’s OK.
