There's one island in Netherstorm, all the way to the north and east, that has always felt like the most isolated and remote place in all of WoW. It's the one with the destroyed Manaforge, the void creature Dimensius, and the ethereal prison camp. I remember even back when TBC was new, there seemed to be fewer people there than in the rest of Outland, and once Wrath came out I don't think I've ever seen another player in that area. I always go there when I level through Outland and it really does feel like you're on the edge of deep space there. Like you could just float away and never be seen again.

Perfect balance of ambience and music, with waves of benevolent and malevolent tones which allows you to confront your shadow in palatable bits. So back in the days of my warlock, myself and two friends would roam Netherstorm and find one of the many floating islands that was only accessible with a flying mount. We'd then see who was in the area at level 67 or less and whisper them that we found a rare spawn and needed a fourth. We'd then summon them to the island, disband and fly away; their only option was then to waste their hearthstone or jump off and take the rez sickness 🤣
@MrDarkenson Жыл бұрын
For some reason as of right now the entire zone has it's music bugged out. You cannot hear it unless you turn off the sound effect. And even after you do it, a few seconds have to pass before music starts. Once you turn sound effects back on, music stops. And only Netherstorm is like this. The rest of the Outland is fine.

Hey man, love the videos! Looks like you've really worked out the kinks with the new system since the old Farsight addon stopped working (as I understand it happened, anyway)! Would you go back and redo the Gilneas videos with this new mastery of the camera shake? The raw ambience of Gilneas is spectacular, but I find myself getting nauseous after only watching a few minutes thanks to the camera shake :(.
@Everness17 жыл бұрын
Hand-held motion is done in After Effects, but I see what you mean. I was thinking on making revision videos only when or if a new camera tool will be available (for all kinds of sweet fly-throughs and such), but viewers getting nauseous is a real problem. I'll look into that, shouldn't take too much time if I use the same vistas.

Well Wrath was made during the Acto-Blizzy merger-takeover. BC was made when the actual founder of the company still worked there. Makes a world of difference.
@hawkstrike185 жыл бұрын
It certainly is more diverse, artistically. Huge differences between the (always high quality, quite vast/complex) zones, even within them, which made Outland so interesting to me. But most people don't value authenticity... Still, TBC is far from underestimated in reality, it's just that WotLK is overrated, by loud fanboys (due to how many more started playing then, too). Also, well, different tastes; not everyone likes new imaginary planets, they'd rather explore more earthly/realistic continents for some reason. TBC is for dreamers, I suppose, who truly play this game for the right reasons (landscapes&music, like you said - the atmosphere of the game) and not for achievement points or shop mounts, like most WotLK-, Cata-, etc. "babies".
