It is always so fun to hear the accurate and complete descriptions of humans from an outside view. Especially when you figure out halfway through that your talking about humans because we don't see that in ourselves we are to used to the inside humanity point of view so much so that the outside view just sounds like monsters at first lol.

Ye're Kidding right? The "creature" is Human. 7:17 time stamp regarding cognitive speed in stressful situations (Fight or Flight) You show me a human who can't figure out how to load a weapon in UNDER 30 seconds when their life depends on it and I'll show you a dude in a coma.😉

No my guy, that was pretty obviously an alien species that picked up a human. Just because they’ve progressed to a similar tech level doesn’t make them any more or less human, they’re just equal on the playing field. ALL aliens will have a sense of morality that will strike us as insane when we first get out there and that WILL start a war.

@@DeathclawJedi That's what I think this is, and I give you that the weapon thing is a substantial hint, but the author clearly makes a strong effort to make the other side look as human-like as they can. Just some points: - scientists in white clothes - people smoking slim white and thick brown sticks - grey hairs, hands, projectors etc., ranks, all that stuff exactly as we have. That can't be an accident, it's clearly intentional.

It is clearly by design. 'Forward facing' ears is a bit of a stretch (I don't consider human ears forward facing, perhaps maybe they are by some metric I am unfamiliar with). The super slow loading thing is a bit of a giveaway though as I don't think a human soldier would take 30 seconds to reload a pistol or rifle (this taking place in what I presume is a military research complex I expect them to be at least competently proficient with such a task). Author could have gone for twice as fast (10 seconds vs 5 seconds) and gotten away with the subterfuge longer. The fight or flight thing vs taking a long time to make a decision, well, some humans do lock up in a crisis, so it could be that (fight or flight or freeze). Still a good breakdown of the bad side of finding out.

@@stevedixon921 And while it doesn't really fit with the rest of the story, 30 seconds wouldn't be _that_ slow with a lose-powder front loader. Sure, that's rather unlikely with a rifle. But for a few seconds, that was the picture I had in my head.

The ending reminded me of the move planet 51, where the alien general and scientist were looking for the human astronaut who mixed in to a costume party, and everyone else had a space suit that looked like it, and the general told them that just like him that astronaut was in uniform and was looking for the nasa badge
