Nettie Edmondson interview: Assistant race director, Women's Tour Down Under - overview of

As an Adelaide local Nettie Edmondson has grown up with the Tour Down Under. The Olympian and former pro cyclist now shares the role of Assistant Race Director with Carlee Taylor.
RIDE Media caught up with Nettie before the start of stage two of the 2024 TDU to get an overview of how she now sees the bike race that has helped turn Adelaide into a cycling hotspot each summer.

The women"s race was the highlight this year- 100%!! So glad I got to each stage, what an exciting finish on Willunga for SG! Congrats to Nettie and Carlee on organising the parcours/race. Also great opportunity for young AU riders to participate with local teams. The race was a TOTAL success for me 👍👍

Agree. Couldn't believe that Sarah rode as hard as she did as soon as the gradient went up. Into the wind, so bold and confident - so much so that I was sure it couldn't last... but she kept going, into the wind, up the hill, and onwards alone to the top. It was a fantastic display and a reward for what was clearly the ideal preparation. Bravo indeed, on the win, the event, the spectacle, and the community - those in South Australia and the many visitors alike - it created a motivating, enjoyable, satisfying environment. - Rob
