Hi Pete, another reminder of my Romani childhood, we didn't pick the nettles much as they were very good for the horses, dad said it heped them shed their winter coat. Instead we nearly always used Turnip Tops for our greens. Thanks for the memory.

Turnip tops are great, I think they call them collared greens in Southern USA. Romani soul food and American soul food have that in common! Thanks for the memories my friend 😊

As a child, my Granny would make a Nettle Soup, foraged from the hedgerows of local farmers' fields. Back then, there were no chemical pesticides, and everything only needed a rinse under the cold tap. I remember her RAVING about the iron and vitamin C content of what is basically, a weed. I'm going to try this dish...It looks DELISH! 😋😋😋

What a wonderful way of utilizing nettles, Pete...well done! I don't have nettles here, but I would love to make this recipe, looks so good. We love greens here and any kind of wild ones are welcome. Thanks for sharing one of your best recipes!

If you don't have nettles Rivet, any kind of spinach will get the job done. Enjoy!

I was just thinking what no seasoning!! Then in it went 😀. Nettles are a great ingredient. I have an abundance of them on the border of my garden. Thanks for sharing Pete

Careful handling can net you a spinach-like vegetable with over seven times the amount of vitamin C per weight than oranges, for free!

This looks like a great side dish. A couple of weeks ago, I made ratatouille for the first time in my life and can’t believe how much I enjoyed it. This has some similarities but much easier and quicker. Thank you for another great recipe. I guess I’ll be waiting a bit to hunt for nettles, though and will have to use spinach for now. We had a week of high 80’s F and back to low 30’sF with light snow yesterday and today ☹️

I love ratatouille too, especially cold as a summer cooler. Spinach will go great in-lieu of nettles.
