Yes. Nowhere near the truth probably but as entertainment it does the trick. Excellent sets and costumes make up for lack of actual facts. .

Just finished watchin this I have to say with out a doubt this is 1 of the best jack the ripper movies I ever seen profound acting from all the actors and actresses Michael Caine suberb as always and great acting from a very young armande assante I loved it it twas definitely worth buying

This version is much lighter than the one I have gotten on DVD, has this been remastered?

Yes it is Tim, they have remastered it. Even the Thames Tv ident is remastered. They have both episodes as it was shown in 1988.

the part where the guy goes to enter the yard was supposed to feature him striking a match to see her corpse. that's only bit here thats not correct. the bit with a black horse and cart is a bit far fetched though lol.
