I really appreciate the in-depth filming showing the crew's hands-on craftsmanship alongside the latest CAD/cam-generated machine tools. They blend it together so well, the best Auto show on TV today.

The lack of drama is what drew me to want to watch the show more and more. Get rid of your writers get rid of the stupid jokes get rid of the drama. Car guys don't want to see drama they want to see cars being built they want to see the tips and tricks and techniques not the drama and the whining and the jokes

I had the pleasure of Meeting Dave at a car show in PA last summer. He was just as you would imagine. Very pleasant, engaging and an overall gentleman. I told him that what really drew me to the show other than the incredible cars was the lack of "drama" and the fact that they don't try and tell you they do a car in seven days, they keep it real. He told me that was what he wanted from the start. He said that the network, while trying to develop the show wanted him to do x amount of cars in an impossible amount of time. I cannot remember how many in how long but I remember he said that there was no way he would do that and that it was impossible with the type of quality he demands. If that was what they wanted he would not do the show. As we now know, the network relented and we have benefited.

Believe it or not... probably 97% of car shops are drama-free zones. They really have to look hard to find characters like Boyd Coddington (RIP and no offense) and Paul "'Roid-Rage" Teutul Senior to "up" the drama factor. This is getting pretty obvious today because there are so many drama-free car/motorcycle shows. Foose may have been silly, but the lack of drama was great, but their attempts at making deadlines seem important was stupid. One time Foose's producers missed an edit and one of the people on the show said something like "we are just about at the end of week 3" when the build was supposed to be happening much more quickly than that, I forget if it was 1 or 2 weeks for that build. It's getting harder and harder for drama-queen owners to keep the doors open. With artificial drama being my #1 "hate" item re. car and motorcycle shows, my #2 "hate" is fake and unrealistic deadlines. Real businesses that are run that way year after year have either massive employee "churn" or they fail completely and go out of business.

Dave Kindig is the best Custom Car builder in the world. His talented team are dedicated to perfection. I met Dave and his son Drew a few years ago in OC Md. Just last week I got my picture with him and Kev Dogg at the Mecum Auction in Florida. They attracted the largest crowd of anybody there. Both are super nice people. Dave’s hand built carbon fiber 53 Corvette brought about $200k more than he was expecting.

Dave is truly the gentleman of automotive TV shows. It is the one show that viewers seek out for entertainment and knowledge. The banter between him an Kevdog is funny yet respectful. The lack of fake deadlines and drama only makes the show one of a kind. It's refreshing to watch a show and feel like the time spent was not wasted on fake reality programming. I notice that all, or most, of the comments here are from Guys and they’re very positive. TV Also has a female audience. I wonder if the shows that have more “Drama” are more appealing to a wider audience, including women? I don’t have the ratings, but there must be some reason for all the goofy shows that have the phoney arguments and drama. I hate it, like most guys do. I like great design ideas, and watching real craftsmen at work. One complaint, Dave’s shop Manager, the “comedian” has ceased to be funny, years ago. JMHO.

Seems like a great guy while on camera and I can't believe he is not any different off camera. A self made millionaire always has my respect especially in the type of business he is in. I had an auto body repair shop for 35 years and the work is not that easy doing restorations. The collision work was not as bad except for timelines to please the insurance companies. You have to protect your body from so many hazards also. I am sitting here using oxygen because COPD caused partially from the sanding dust and painting, cigarettes and the 5 years in a coal mine. My knees are shot from working on concrete for so long also. You have to make good money to compensate. Dave is past all that since he has good employees to do the work. Show a believable work environment where the guys and gals are allowed to have fun while producing amazing products is a plus in a world where strife appears to be the norm, and if no strife present, these other shows just make some up. Why does a show have to have drama? It's about real craftsmen making some amazing cars, what's wrong with that?

Sprinkles are for winners. I still say that to this day (or even think it when picking up donuts). He is a winner.

I wonder if "Kindig" would modify a 1996 Mustang GT for about 145 thousand dollars under the car's name of "Wild Wood Weed ? Wide old school front & rear fender flares, fiberglass one-piece tilt hood & fenders, a racing 4 link rear control arms with a one piece vehicle mounting plate welded in place of factory mounts , subframe connectors, an 8.5 second SFI cert. roll cage, Jon Caesse Supercharged Boss 9, hardened gears & shaft racing Tremec T-56 with adjustable gear stop short-throw shifter, triple disc clutch, carbon fiber drive shaft, aftermarket aluminum 10.5 inch full floating Ford rearend, short wheeley bars, tubular K-member & radiator mounts, 15 gallon fuel cell with racing fuel pumps & lines, powder coated aluminum interior panels, racing seats (2) and SFI seat belt harnessing, new windows, new steering box with new steering shaft & steering wheel (customized), new hydrollic clutch peddle and system, 10 way double adjusting coil over struts, extremely wide MT radial street tires on the rear and wide MT radial street tires on the front, new electrical system eliminating the factory wiring with SFI rear cut-off switch - everything needed for rural NM license plate ( head & tail lights, turn & emergency signal lights, marker lights, interior lights). Of course, before modifying of the Mustang, it needs a rotisserie sand blasting or acid dipping with body parts replaced as needed. A dark green paint lob with large gold metal flakes and a realistic looking medical marijuana bud with crystalline clear trycons sparkling all over the bud, that is air-brushed on the hood..
