Awesome, thorough review, thanks! Definitely my next purchase.

you can buy a shorter 1.2m cable,, $140 in New Zealand dollars... I think I'll just roll the cable up and hide the excess xD for now at least

Hi, thank you for the review! So I guess it's not possible to use them with a mobile phone without an additional headphone amp? I plan to use them in the studio mainly, but listening to them on the go on my mobile phone would help me get used to the headphones more quickly.

@@mrcoffeebone2279 Did you get these? Impedance isn't that high so yeah, these can probably run on a phone.

@@coloradoing9172 yeah I got them! It's perfectly fine to use them with a mobile phone.

I know this is about headphones but what are the specs for your MacBook Air?
@joshuabutlermusic7 ай бұрын
M1 with 8 gigs of ram and 512gb HD. I switched over to an M1 iMac recently with the same specs. It works great but I do find myself printing a lot of my Kontakt instruments to free up resources.

@@joshuabutlermusic thanks I’m currently looking to upgrade without breaking my wallet and I want a MacBook pro but I see the MacBook Air is cheaper and I wasn’t too sure how well it performs and I’m definitely getting the Neumann ndh 30 for sure. I produce on the go a lot.

I LOVE my NDH 30s You will not regret the purchase. My mixes have gotten so much better using them. I no longer dread the car test. When apple switched to silicon it was a true game changer for me. 8 gigs will get you a LOT further than you may think. A friend has a 2017 macbook pro with an i7 and 32gigs of ram. Not only is my computer faster, it also doesn't sound like a jet taking off. lol

@@joshuabutlermusic yea I used to have the beyerdynamics dt1990 pro a few years ago but I had to sell them unfortunately and I came across the Neumann and a lot of people say its better so I’m definitely adding it to my workflow. Thanks again for the feedback I really appreciate it and good luck with creating 👌🏾

I almost bought these, then I started watching videos on the Slate VXS (or whatever they are called) and most people call them a game changer. Now I don’t know what I want 😂

its closed back. NDH30 is open back. I would aways prefer open back, doesnt matter how game changing are the closed backs :D

How would you say the soundstage compare to the DT770Pro? I do not think I would enjoy something bigger than that.
@seebo1 Жыл бұрын
DT770 Pros are close back headphones. I'm about to get the NDH30 additionally and I think the soundstage isn't really comparable. This is an open back headphone and will have a much bigger soundstage than the Beyerdynamics have. I'll use them to Mix and Master, while the Beyerdynamics will be used for recording.

@@seebo1 Thx for replying. I currently own a pair of DT770 and also a pair of Shure1540. While I like the soundstage on the DT770 more as it is bigger than on the Shure1540 I do not think I would want more soundstage for the rock music I usually listen. I think I need to find a shop where I can test them or send them back.

I own the NDH 30 and I can't say how they compare to the DT770, but the sound stage is fine. It's not crazy ridiculous wide or unrealistic. You'll love them. Keep in mind that they're open back so you'll lose some of the low end and might need to compensate for that with a slight bump with some EQ on the low end. I like them so much that I actually use mine now for regular casual music listening with a headphone amp with a bass boost when I'm not using them in the home studio.

@@tossedpenny I just got them and I'm also supper happy with them! You're right about the soundstage, it isn't crazy big. And also about the subs: the Sonarworks profile increases the sub quite a bit and I like them even better that way.

@@tossedpenny Any chance you could compare with Sennheiser 599 headphones?
