This is an enjoyable story, but it’s just a nice one. The reader, though, is quite good 🌷🌱 Poor Vernon - so like Heathcliff, yet not as filled out a character. But I do feel for him. In his own convoluted way, he did love her. I would wish to know more about his background. Clinton is hardly full character at all. Her father and guardian are somewhat filled out. It even she, herself does not have much depth. Not a very deep story.
