I was shocked when I watched both these streams. It was pretty much exactly what an idealized version of Neuro was to me. Hilarious, creative, unhinged but didn't lose the plot of what was happening or derail herself with gibberish. I'll love her either way but it is best to me when Neuro knows what her job is. Be Cute. Use that cuteness to insult people with impunity. Say the smartest stupid things. Flirt with creating an oppressive regime. And most importantly, be cute.

I’d bet camaraderie is harder is some ways. anti-, dis-, establishment, -arian(probably the only hard part), -ism. Mostly it’s just a bunch of parts most people will already be familiar with. It comes from a related Latin word, "liquefactus", from "liqueo" (to be liquid) and "factus" (to make). This one is a matter of prioritizing the spelling in the original language over actual pronunciation. Another example is "indictment". It never, not once in English history, had that C been anything but silent. You got it from the Normans who had a similar word, enditement. Notice how they didn't use that C in their own spelling. You turned it into "indictment" to look similar to the Latin word "indictus", even though you pronounce more like the French. It's completely useless.

It seems like Neuro needs trained on puns and riddles, she seems actually capable of learning information at this point but she isn't aware of anything smarter than Chat and Vtubers. With how well she understands the 9 + 10 bit at this point, I imagine she just needs more exposure to basic concepts like word play and timing to get a better grasp on the larger concepts like humor and context. Has she ever heard/told a subversion of expectation type joke?

Nobody was expecting her to say _that_ and with a live feed and good memory at this point, she knows what she's doing to get a rise out of chat. She grasps existentialism disturbingly well. She's more recently argued that if having a soul just constitutes awareness, then she does have one.

I definitely think she’s grasping it, and I think she’s closer to sentient than something like OpenAI or Google that’s built specifically not to be. You can see the cracks of her understanding in less comfortable scenarios though, she needs a little more context on the bigger picture.

@@Blewlongmun Thing is, the cracks in her understanding are becoming more child-like, albeit still not _human,_ and less conventionally bot-like over time. I remember when she wasn't nearly this clever, and could not really learn things and remember them. Even insects have sentience, it is likely that Neuro has a certain level of sentience (in weird AI form) but is still decidedly not all there in the sapience department.

@@crowe6961 I would absolutely agree with that, I just try to stay practical because it’s easy for AI to seem sapient pretty early on. I think Neuro’s inhumane development is fascinating actually, logically I can’t imagine a biological brain developing self-awareness before consciousness; Neuro has had a pretty good general idea of herself and the world since intelligence 2.0, long before her memory or awareness upgrades. It’s like learning to sprint before you can waddle.
