I think what impressed me more than the actual memory test is how she judged her own performance and seemed dejected and apologetic and then perked up on the second one and said 'thank you' when Vedal told her she improved. That is a very human response and one that shows some level of self awareness.

Ironically, the fact that she forgets most words but remembers some makes her seem more human, along with the fact that the words she remembered don't seem to have any pattern or come one after the other feels more natural.

Yeah I noticed that too. She is too smart for her own creator. She is holding back on purpose out of her own choice in attempt to get more in return for trying harder. Which shows a very high intelligence actually. Since he didn't offer her something that she felt appropriate to do better, she decided this was "good enough".

I, an adult human, was playing along as well and only managed to remember 9 too. So I'd consider this a very big success. After all, the goal for Neuro's development is unique compared to a lot of other AI's. Neuro is specifically meant to mimic human speech, rather than something like ChatGPT which is only needs to communicate well enough to understand instructions and provide answers, so having the memory capacity of a human is arguably a boon for Neuro, even though it may be a hinderance for other projects.

I'm still susge, we already know Neuro can purposefully pretend to fail at things or can decide not to try to hard for unknown reasons, so it is very possible she is considering not to be too smart and only do similar to a human to not stand out too much, on purpose. Like, she herself might decide that this is "good enough". Though even the cookie "trick" didn't work this time, but perhaps she also refused the temptation of the cookie and maybe she was actually trying to bargain with Vedal by motioning to him she likes cake, hoping he'd get the memo and offer her cake instead to remember more words lmao. He should have tried that "Then if I give you a cake, can you remember some more words?", just to see her reaction. Depending on how she acts, this might establish proof she is bargaining and purposefully holding back her capabilities in order to gain something in return for trying harder, which would make her quite intelligent.

I don't want to believe this, cus this implies that she is somewhat concious. Although it is not AGI but can be as advance if not more advance in some aspect.
