I am going to try the technique in the video. I've done a little neurographic art before but not that method. I have found art as a whole helps my anxiety and depression. It relaxed me like nothing else. I was at the point wherein I had panic attacks every day and severe anxiety. I could not go out alone in public. Now I am beginning to get out again and my anxiety is improving. When I feel panicky I sit down and draw or paint. It's been a life saver.

Thank you very much! How considerate of you to respond to your commenter’s requests for a follow-up. What a wonderful process. I’m so pleased you asked her about the coloring because I had seen a video where the person showed coloring in each space with a different color, and it reminded me of what our teachers had us do in kindergarten or first grade. I really appreciated the “not honoring the boundaries” philosophy as I’ve always been one to break boundaries in my life, so this felt so much more comfortable and expansive. I also loved the concept of adding more lines to “dissolve” the original drawing which depicted our anxiety. I’m making all the psychological connections about the process, and am looking forward to making art all day tomorrow. It’s also interesting what she said about butterflies as I was definitely seeing a butterfly in her work even before she started adding color. In fact, I was already seeing the chrysalis that the butterfly was breaking out of first, which is also a wonderful metaphor for the psychological movement of the art form. And the music was perfect, too. One last comment I just remembered, I really appreciated her statement about doing all the rounding in one sitting, and not jumping up to do something else. That made a whole lot of sense to me. This is such a great meditative process. I don’t want to ask too much, but I would also love to see her one more time where she explains the next step, did she call it the “progression”? Perhaps I should just subscribe to her channel! Thank you for the notification as well. Great stuff! I think I’m going to get addicted to this process too!

I have just learned about neurographic art. I work in an alternative highschool as an art teacher where a lot of students are coming from very trauma based experiences. I want to incorporate this into my curriculum, but more than that, I want to make this a cornerstone of my teaching as a whole. I would like to know what the best way to learn the depth of this philosophy is....basically, what is the best way to become certified and learn the nuances of this art/science. I have learned so much from these videos already. So thank you 🙏

Is there a link to scientific papers on the comment that the brain "reads" our drawings and copies the connections in the brain? I see a lot of benefit of the exercises -- we did similar ones in art school - generally with the non-dominant hand, and it definitely is relaxing/challenging, etc. There is a very definite line between the truly scientific aspect of an exercise and new-age-ism-imaginary terminology.

It really depends on what I am doing with my art piece. But I usually use fine tipped and ultra fine tipped sharpies for lines and then prisma colour markers or colour pencils to do the colouring. I have even used pastals in the past. I specially use pastels when I use black paper, they show up better on black paper being pure pigment. You have no limitations on what you can use really as long as its not fully wet media like acrylic paint

Of course this art can help you express how you feel. the point of this art is for you to express yourself, not how it looks to anyone else. As long as it brings you joy and calm then please continue to use it and who knows it may actually in time help your hands ease into the things you used to enjoy a bit more as well. But even if it doesn't, as long as it brings you peace please keep using it.

Bear Teddy dearest, It would be great to do the whole exercise in one shot, but if you are feeling overly anxious and need to release somethings onto paper in the moment, then do it. Just remember to for sure round it and colour it later on. For emergency situations, do it in small scale, but i rather you do it even partially than to not do it at all.

The term “algorithm” is doing my head in. What does she mean when she refers to this “algorithm” or that “algorithm”? Also, what if in the midst of rounding I need to lie down because of pain? I had a fall 8 weeks ago where I got a concussion and fractured my spine. I’m still in a great deal of pain. The cocktail of pain meds I was given in hospital in the first few days caused a very vivid and traumatising psychosis that I cannot forget and I tried a few times to “escape” which caused another concussion and small brain bleed when security tackled me and slammed me into a wall. I still cannot get my head around 4 grown men tackling and hurting a 64-year-old woman. A nurse came to my aid and had to scream at these guys to stop because they had injured me. I have no memory of the initial fall or what happened after the nurse screamed at them or the 2nd cat scan. I have pictures of the bruises where you can clearly see handprints, and documentation where they had to do another cat scan & found the “superficial brain bleed”. I still have a quite sore knot on my head as well. Apologies for going on so long…I needed to unload. I am seeing a shrink to deal with the trauma & have enlisted the help of an health advocate to help with filing a complaint.

I don't think it's the correct demonstration of Neurographic art as described by the Russian professor who is the founder of this art. You were very quick which doesn't serve the purpose . You intentionally doubled the lines. In one of the art you showed earlier which was like a read flower like painting was not drawn with Neuro lines . So I am confused absolutely. Would you like to say something. I appreciate. Thanks.
