As a fan of cyberpunk, and someone who is constantly screwed by mana drought, I’m really excited to show this to my friends and try it out!

Is there any equivalent of a "colour" mechanic in this game or a way to prevent decks from devolving into "goodstuff decks"
@neuroscape
@neuroscape 2 ай бұрын
Yes! We have a faction mechanic that we designed specifically for that reason! Every mainframe has one or more different factions that it’s designed for and synergy tiers that are activated when you hit the required number of faction cards. These bonuses are super powerful so they encourage players to focus into one or two faction lanes per deck to maximize their overall power level.

Quick question, why go with multiples of two for ram and ram cost? Wouldn’t having it be multiples of one be simpler?
@neuroscape
@neuroscape 6 ай бұрын
We did it because RAM generally comes in multiples of 2 and the larger numbers make the game feel cooler!

what is force quiting? is that bouncing characters from board to hand?
@neuroscape
@neuroscape 6 ай бұрын
It’s a system we created for deleting your own characters. They go into your recycle bin (graveyard) it’s useful to free up additional RAM to play other cards or characters that might be more situationally useful.

follow up question, does RAM transfer from available to committed for characters only or do effects trigger transfer?
@braintrapanimations5283

The rules state characters must commit the ram used to summon them, but once you destroy committed ram, you go unstable... Wouldn't it create more playstyle possibilities to make the commitment of ram a "may" rather than a "must" ? You still pay the ram to summon, but you can decide to go risky and maybe lose the character next turn to have more ram on the following turns, or you can commit the ram, and be sure to keep the character. One could even imagine a whole set of cards that get boosted / altered effects if the mainframe is unstable, or if the oponent's mainframe is unstable. Every time you'd be "forced" to commit ram, it's a may, and to not make just ignoring the ram commitment a broken strategy, you could make so that the stability check is harder for each 2 or 4 ram missing, which in turn could create cards that play on how "redlined" (unstable) you are. This is just me typing after discovering the game, so I'm not very knowledgeable on the game yet, but I think running a very "redline the mainframe" deck could be fun. Love the concept, definitely will keep an eye out for the kickstarter!

This is actually a really interesting idea that I think would make the game even more complex. If they wanted to keep it as it is, they could still implement cards in the future that will still have those altered affects like you said, but I think for the sake of not making it too complex they probably won't add this in. Maybe in the digital version you could make custom games that have this element added in?

turn 3 you didn't draw any cards
@neuroscape
@neuroscape Жыл бұрын
Good catch! After turn one its always draw a total of 2. That was a mistake. It was hard to explain all the rules and also remember to do everything at the same time. This was just a rough pass to get out quickly. We are hoping to have some detailed tutorials put together shortly!

So what im seeing is run 30% defence cards for small cost And then speed build up terrabytes to hard call out cybernetics
@neuroscape

That’s definitely a solid strategy! Slow build Econ decks like like that tend to do well. But there are quite a few other solid deck build strategies we’ve seen like mainframe aggro blitz and slow burn control.

Is this AI art?
@neuroscape
@neuroscape 3 ай бұрын
We’ve been using art generated in Midjourney as a placeholder while we develop the game. We’re actually working with three different artists right now to create our first artist cards which we’re super excited about! Our eventual goal is to replace all of the Midjourney art in the game with human created art!

this is one of the most tropey, derivative, and uninspired card games i've ever seen. Is that AI art on the cards? Cyberpunk is a truly dead genre if this is what passes for it now. Play Netrunner if you want a good cyberpunk card game that doesn't take 90% of its mechanics from mtg.

Well you’re entitled to your opinion, but we’ve played Netrunner and we think this game is a lot more fun. Each to their own.

Hmm Netrunner’s hard to beat. Great game. This is a take on mtg for sure.
