Also what is life, if not memory
@AmanSharma-ue5mt4 жыл бұрын
"Your life is the sum of a remainder of an unbalanced equation inherent to the programming of the Matrix. You are the eventuality of an anomaly, which the universe has been unable to eliminate from what is otherwise a harmony of mathematical precision. While it remains a burden assiduously avoided, it is not unexpected, and thus not beyond a measure of control, which has led you, inexorably, here."
@avikpathak33814 жыл бұрын
@@AmanSharma-ue5mt its one way of looking at it, yet we can suggest our existence to behave in accordance to the weak anthropic principle, which makes our existence meaningfull, also what tends to singularity is an anomaly for us, not for god(i m agnostic with a bit of skepticism btw) , since quantum theory puts an end to the preciseness of our existence, memory, is the matrix /metric without which mankind would cease to exist, yet its preciseness and non exhaustive perception (if existed ) would have been the end of this world, so everything is equally correct and equally wrong, just like this universe.
@AmanSharma-ue5mt4 жыл бұрын
@@avikpathak3381 Drawing a parallel between 'life' and 'memory' still seems too anthropological a method of defining 'what is life'. On one hand, it begs reconsideration of the concept of 'life' since animals and plants are also 'alive' but don't seem to share the same faculties of memory that you and me do. On the other hand, incredibly successful (purely in evolutionary sense) micro organisms like viruses, bacteria don't seem to have or need those faculties at all for survival. Bottom line being the fact that understanding memory becomes a self defeating endeavor on two fronts: 1 - the fact that we are confined to our own definitions / perceptions of what 'life' or 'memory' is. 2 - the exercise is constrained by the fact that it is basically 'the universe trying to understand itself' through us (or our brain).
@avikpathak33814 жыл бұрын
@@AmanSharma-ue5mt ofc, if you generalize the idea so much then for sure everything is questionable across the universe.The idea of intelligent life is ofc relative to our universe, just like space and time.Whenever we delve deep into the understanding of memory,we know its nothing but the neural connections, yet we interpret the data relative to ourselves, as we are yet to find any other brain(organic)similar to man. If we question it, all scientific ideas seem to be lost in a deeper philosophy which I personally feel renders in nihilism eventually. Maybe understanding our memory is a futile endeavor, but isnt everything?..... Yeah you know what I m talking abt.Still, as we arent just virus /bacterias, so we need to keep busy ourselves in these futile questions till the end of our time. In the end we are all nothing but stardust, just some elementary particles held together, for god knows what purpose.Years of evolution gave us a machine to explore more than just survival and pleasure, just adding few more lobes around the principal one, thats it, ......... Also its been a pleasure talking to you, ....Again see.. we all are nothing but hedonists borne out of paramecium XDD
@AmanSharma-ue5mt4 жыл бұрын
@@avikpathak3381 Haha! Fair mate. But to be honest, I didn't mean to invoke nihilism in any way (though now I can't ignore it either). Nor did I mean to imply that it is a futile endeavor in any way. What I meant was 'intelligence' (or life or memory) needn't only have a human-centric definition. But that is of course the only way we as sentient species can go about it (yet). So that's cool. However, let me lay my counter view to your original comment - what is life but a fleeting experience of the universe (delivered by the senses). Depending on where a species may be on the evolutionary tree, the nature of those experiences may vary. Memory is just a temporary or permanent recollection of a very narrow range of those experiences, made significant by our experience of time in this universe.
