I'm excited to see Neve Campbell back, even though I wasn't a big fan of the last 2 Scream episodes - gotta love that late '90s, early 2000s nostalgia, though! It's awesome that she's in the film, getting the recognition she deserves and certainly the money she asked for. However, it's disappointing that Jenna Ortega and Melissa Barrera, who truly shine, aren't part of it. Trying to paint their absence as related to baseless accusations is unfair: these ladies are NOT ANTIS3MIT3S !!! They just courageously spoke out against a genocide in Palestine!!!! Anyway, I've decided to boycott this film, as I do with any that support Israel or contribute to the ongoing Palestinian crisis or to conflate any criticism of Israel with antis3mitism.

⁠@@natex4398 Scream 5 came out during the peak of Omicron. Movie theatres were not back to normal yet and a lot of people avoided going to the cinema. Scream 5 did very well for a movie that came out during Covid, which was why Scream 6 was even greenlit.

You do understand this woman loves this franchise. She refused to come back cause of a pay dispute. No one left or quit on her behalf. Skeet, Coutney, David, all of them came back. None of the cast did anything. Melissa being fired has zero to do with neve. Its a mess. This company is a mess. Which is why I'm sure Kevin and Neve came back together to at least try to save this franchise Wes built. She could have just turned it down again and let the franchise get run into the ground, but she clearly didn't want that to happen and the company was probably desperate and paid her what she was due. I'm sure Kevin back on board probably helped too. thinking Spyglass is gonna sell the rights, so Melissa and Neve and everyone can come all back together, is insane and not gonna happen. SO i understand.

As much as I’m glad that Neve is coming back as Sidney, then rehire Melissa Barrera. I still hate Spyglass for what they did to her, and for killing off Dewey like that. He, Sidney, and Gale deserved happy ending. Hope Hayden Panettiere comes back as Kirby, Courteney Cox as Gale Weather, Matthew Lizard as Stu, David Arquette as Dewey Riley (similar like they did to Billy Loomis when he appears in Sidney and Gale’s visions), and Patrick Dempsey as Mark Kincaid (Sidney’s husband). I also hope they all survived

She was in “in the heights” which was a musical movie based off of the broadway musical. Now she’s starring in a movie called Abigail and she just had a film that premiered at Sundance called “your monster” . I’d say she’s doing just fine 😂

Why cant Kevin write it instead of direct it? the biggest problem with the last five movies is that they were badly written, relying too much on the tropes and dialogue from the previous movies. That made them extremely dated. If Kevin was astute enough to capture the teen speak form the 1990s, he could try and come up with a more accurate depiction of what kids today are like (or a more tolerable version of it anyway)
