Here it is, the even more elusive 2477; a 2007 WXLL Autocar McNeilus Autoreach. I've been wanting to film this truck for a couple years now and I'm happy to now be able to say that I have! I got lucky because since this is a strictly commercial truck, my only chance to film it for a long time was through an open route. And I believe he was covering 2460's or 2442's route. One thing I love about this truck is that it has the old McNeilus backup sound, not a very common thing! Thankfully, that was I think well-showcased in this video.
Here is the newest information:
We're down to 12 Allied Waste garbage trucks in the fleet: 2427, 2428, 2432, 2436, 2442, 2443, 2445, 2447, 2477, 2483, 2492, and 2493. 2465 was just taken away and 2479 is broken down but sitting in the yard still, not sure why. Maybe they just have to salvage parts still.
ALSO my favorite truck in the whole fleet is next on the list to be decommissioned which is 2432. It was down I think yesterday and today probably to get it ready because next week might be its last week. So it this week could've been its last week with an assigned route. Because they way they get rid of the trucks is a week or so before they're done, they're a spare truck. Its replacement is in the fleet, though. 2509. It's identical to 2505 in that it has the same new logo.
One more thing, everyone was rerouted! Well, mostly everyone. I think it was all residential routes in Fremont and the residential recycling and greenwaste routes in Newark. Union City routes were untouched. The way it happened was mostly everyone kept their trucks they just picked a different route. Which, on one hand, it's unfortunate that I have no idea where any trucks are anymore so I can't just go to a certain area and film a truck. On the other hand, it opens the door to seeing trucks in new areas. Plus I really like resetting and getting a fresh start. So I welcome the guesswork because I get to relearn everything.
Anyway, sorry for the long description but thanks for checking out this video and thanks to the driver for letting me record, enjoy!
