I can't believe ChatPRD makes such a good PRD. My mind is blown. It's a game changer.
I am a bit of a skeptic when it comes to AI writing good documentation because so far everything I've seen sounds very non-human. But ChatPRD changes everything. It truly feels like magic. ChatPRD is a new product that helps product managers create PRD's (product requirement documents or product briefs).
Artificial intelligence may not fully replace product managers but I do think that product managers need to start embracing AI if they want to keep up. It'll also change what product managers are ultimately responsible for. Soon product managers may not need to spend as much time drafting documentation, writing stories, reporting bugs, or writing release notes - and they can use that time to do more strategic work!!

ChatPRD is pretty awesome. The person that created it has been sharing their journey of building it on X. I highly suggest using it as a starting point to get the ball rolling. From there, you can flesh it out. Blank page syndrome is no more!

I'm a fan of Claire and chatPRD 🎉 One way to really drive this point home would have been to use the same prompt for chatgpt and chatprd and compare the results. They're miles apart for anyone wondering😅 Great content btw

Oh yes a side by side would be a great experiment! I've spent quite a bit of time in ChatGPT though, and have never seen as good of results as I saw from ChatPRD!

I just tried it after watching your video and DAMN. I’m a product marketing manager so while I don’t have the direct PM experience, it’s pretty darn good as a first pass. @alisa I would LOVE for you to expand on what you think AI tools may not be able to do as well. Because I can also imagine a world where AI can integrate huge amounts of customer and company data to come up with creative ideas too. Maybe AI can’t access the soft skills in interacting with people? AI is progressing so fast I don’t think we can assume that this is the peak of its capabilities…

It's an amazing first draft right?? Love where your head's at. It seems like any activity that requires us to go into focus mode and write will be somewhat replaced by AI. But creative thinking and collaboration are going to be skills that can't be as easily replaced. I also think about a day in the life for PM's... We're constantly asked for advice on how something should be implemented or communicated - I feel like those strategic assessments are still best done by us humans (at least for now 😉)

Absolutely! Some PM's (myself included) don't even have a minor in comp sci, and are still able to break in 😃

For sure - I'd guess you'd have to explain a bit more about the product in the prompt for a lesser known company. Though who knows if there's info about the company online then maybe it would work just fine!
