I usually just watch from afar and don’t comment but honestly this scenic expressway / railroad junction in the hills is absolutely gorgeous! So dreamy with all the bridges and little plantations. I imagine this being in southern Germany around the Rhein area.

I feel your pain. I tried to build a bridge to my airport on an island, but the curves were mismatched and I could not figure out how to fix it. Then I found network multitool’s parallel roads feature. This must have been hard without mods.

Chaos Theory, in practice. Gradually revealing an orderly system from what at first seem to be largely random and unrelated actions undertaken by a person thoroughly enjoying their neurosis. I begin watching these videos with the intention of learning something and at the end find myself altered in ways that often take days or weeks to fully unravel. I must say that I often approach the game with some trepidation after watching these very entertaining videos, but, there are not butts about it, I learn something invaluable every time. Thank you very much for this very talented content. Your builds are magnificent.

To answer your question at the end: Highways will inevitably be needed for the transport of some goods or other general movement of items. However, when building highways, you should make sure to not build too many as having a city that has too many highways is not only a waste of money but also terrible for the general wellbeing of citizens. You should also take into account how much time it takes to travel by different modes- the highways shouldn't be faster than alternative modes or you start inducing demand, causing traffic and making life for everyone miserable. Furthermore, building highways downtown should absolutely be avoided. This includes highway tunnels which induce car traffic and clog up all the city streets. Highways should go around the city, not through it. Furthermore, you should consider whether a highway is actually needed or if the area would be better served by a different type of road.
