I was on VA 68 like just more than a week ago in economy. I have always be a big fan of VA. Have only been flying VA domasticly in AUS, and Flew VA 83 from Sydney to hongkong, and VA 68 back to Melbourne. I had the pleasure to hold velocity gold for a year and I did go to Club autus as well, loved it, (well free alcohol and food). I really like the crew on VA, always so nice and professional. VA really puts QF into shame in a lot ways. Nice video as always.

Haha, I'm having beer in Club Autus next time 😗becaues lemon tea was meh. I really like that the VA crew are professional and geniune the same time, like not fake smiling! But real from their hearts! Qantas... lesser and lesser food, no longer the cheapest out there, cannot stay 100% loyal anymore. Thanks for watching!

Wow that is a nice review of VA, Jayden! I have never been to this terminal on HKIA which surprisingly has different nice looking ambience. The 3 choices of meal for dinner and breakfast and extensive beverage list were awesome! VA has stepped up the game indeed. Although the meal tray look so empty somehow.

I flew on one of the first services in 2017 and I was impressed with the service provided in Economy X. Much better than Qantas and you’re spot on about the extra catering you get on VA 👍

Your videos are getting better and better, Jayden! Your personality is coming through nicely and this makes them a joy to watch! Well done! Impressive choices for meals, but the meals do lack side dishes. They look tasty though. Like the way they announce the meal choices on the PA. Not many airlines do this. Do they provide toothbrushes. I wonder. It would be nice if they are included in their amenity kit. As to not knowing your girlfriend is on the same flight until you sat down....well, I find that hard to believe with her sitting next to you!! Haha!! 😉🤣

Yeah side dishes like salad, cake and fruits were definitely missing. Not sure if they provide toothbrushes, I didn't ask, but yeah, would be great if they include it in the amenity kit. It's great they provide an amenity kit by the way! Aiyo girl-friend not girlfriend 😂Yeah crazy... she was flying to Melbourne non-stop, and I was continuing to Adelaide after. I always seid Virgin was one of the best airlines to fly with, I flew on Virgin Atlantic from Heathrow to Hong Kong on VS206 ex VS200 back in 2015, and every time I have flown with them I was never disappointed. The service with Virgin is way better than Qantas and it shows. The last time I flew to Melbourne was back in 2006/2007, that was with Qantas and no offences to anyone who currently works for them but their service sucked in comparison with Virgin who I've yet to fly with to Australia. As that service simply wasn't avaible in 2006/2007.

Hey Jayden, I agree, VA is always delayed!!! And I got addicted to l'occitane products after our stay in Japan, the hotel had the same products you showed. Did you manage to get any sleep? I find those overnight flights rough cos I can't sleep. Next time can you pls ask for peppermint tea to drink? Oh yes about that stain on the headrest, it's accumulated from many many people 🤮Interesting thing is, Qantas (newer seats) and VA don't put the little white mat over the headrests, apparently it's to reduce waste. I like that initiative but they have to clean properly!

After flying so many times, I found that what determines the level of service is actually profit. The more profit they make, the better service they provide. But I only care about care about how smooth the landing is and the accuracy the pilot touches down.I HATE the brakes after rethrust. This pilot exit the runway too early ，must with full brake,which can make me feel uncomfortable. Remember not to choose a window seat without a window. By the way, hope your journey more enjoyable and your study smooth.In the future, I might grab the chance to fly cathay A350 for the hehe service and enjoy more 787.

I bet they will when China takes full control of HK in 2047. But for now, China does not have 100% control, HK is pretty much a territory of China, but operating as a country :D It's a confusing story haha. Before the UK handed HK over to China, HK passport is almost identical to British, just without the words 'European Union'

Thank-you for another very informative yet succinct flight report, Jayden. I’ll make some short comments and then ask you a question I believe will be unique, since I have not read anyone asking it in comments. For certain, the young lady who sat next to you was very attractive, which for me provides a great initial positive for a flight, even though the airline has nothing to do with it. When you stated that Melbourne was “the most livable city”, I was motivated to research the ranking system. Personally, I do not like large urban areas. In fact, I find large cities throughout the world essentially the same, with the only difference among them being the lingua franca. Ultimately, my favorite view was of the moon set at dawn. Such a sight could really take my mind off of things for a long time. My question has to do with conversations, something about which I am merely curious. Do you enjoy conversing with strangers on a flight, or do you prefer keeping to yourself? Personally, I enjoy meeting someone who is able to maintain a conversation no matter whatever the topic might be (with the exclusion of religion and politics). I enjoy getting to know strangers and hearing about their experiences in life, especially if they are knowledgeable in areas in which I have limited familiarity. Again, thank-you for your post. I do look forward to sharing your next inflight experience.

So yeah my friend certainly made the review better haha. This is not meant to be an offensive question, but have you ever been to Australia? In my opinion, Australian cities have great balance of urban and nature. The city I'm currently in, Adelaide, is surrounded by 29 parks, covering 930 hectares of land. And I love it, but of course, this is subject to our preferences and ways we see things :) With regards to conversations with strangers on a plane. I don't really mind, but I do feel a bit more comfortable when the person is around the same age as me. I never start a convo, but if one begins a conversation with me, I'm happy to carry on. My neighbour on the inaugural Cathay A350-1000 is an American. He had no idea that he was on a special flight, and he was actually put on this flight due to a missed connection, we started talking about Trump haha. Then I had a Canadian talking Christianity with me late last year when I flew Qantas A380 Sydney to HK. I didn't mind it at all, it was just I understood nothing haha.

Personally, I thoroughly appreciate the conveniences offered by living in my less densely populated suburb, especially since the vast majority of my US Army career was spent having "quality time" with nature. But when I do travel overseas (from the US), I prefer the smaller cities and rural areas the most. There is where I am able to appreciate the true culture of that nation, because the people are much more relaxed and friendly. To answer your question, no sir; I have never been to Australia, but truly hope one day to visit it. Although I do not know much about it, the trans-Australian railroad trip (Sydney to Perth, I think?) seems to be very inviting. Of all my kindred, English speaking countries, I am most intrigued with Australia and Scotland. Believe it or not, Hong Kong has also been a long standing location I would like to see (just for a day or so to see the highlights). As far as conversations go, I am a very outgoing person. Years ago, I struck up a conversation with a Scottish couple while on a Caribbean cruise, and we have remained friends for about a decade now. We even exchange Christmas cards. In fact, they have made me an honorary member of their Scottish clan. Although I converse easily with others, I am very sensitive and am in no way intrusive. Thank-you again for your reply. I am especially appreciative for the time you spent to address my questions and write your reply.
