This was my first concert as a 16 ish year old, circa 84... They were THE coolest band at the time and 4 decades has not changed that impression.

My first live concert was Blue Oyster Cult in May 1979. 2 weeks later I say the Scorpions on Navy Pier, Chicago. I was hooked and have probably been to 40-45 live concerts. I do regret missing out on AC/DC several times and never saw them. Seen the Scorpions several times and will see them again in Vegas next year. Taking my son and nephew.

@@shanerobinswpr7027 I still love those songs lol. Trust me, I’m not some snowflake. I just never really paid attention to what the songs were really about.

@@The_JustJoshing Good to hear you still listen, i'd die if did not have my daily fix of classic metal. The woke comment was bit sarcasm mate nothing meant by it at all. I was one those metal heads mate that would sit with the lyric sleeve and read/learn the lyrics as it belted out the speakers. For me metal is just as much about the lyrics as it is about the guitar.

Hey Alex! Poets of the Fall is a very underrated Finnish rock band with an amazing vocalist. I whole-heartedly recommend checking out their songs like "Carnival of Rust", "My Dark Disquiet", "False Kings" or "Fool's Paradise". Watch the drummer, Hermann (co-lyrisist with Klaus on this song), very carefully at 4:05 and you'll see what the original chorus lyrics were! Another 4 letter word starting with F, and replaced by the word 'rock' so that the song would not be banned and would get airplay! Hermann shared this truth in an interview I saw him on years ago. My favorite group of all time. So incredibly talented.

You should listen more disco and funk from the 80's. "Gonna rock you all night" and its variations are one of the common phrases used. E.g Michael Jackson "Rock With You". :) It has been used since early rock 'n' roll - which itself is an euphemism as well - and blues.

The Zoo, Holiday, Dynamite, No One Like You, He's a Woman - She's a Man, Coast to Coast... they had many great songs, reaching their artistical peak in 1984 with the Love At First Sting album (which includes Rock You Like a Hurricane and Still Loving You) followed by their epic double live album World Wide Live in 1985, you can check out almost anything by them before that live album. Everything that came after it sounds at least different and is in my eyes not as great anymore as what they did until the mid-80s, they started to get mellow and became a radio-friendly band that had little to do with the hard rock / heavy metal group they were before.
