Yes Declan!!! I've loved him as an artist ever since his first song- he wrote it for his gcse music exam coursework when he was like 15 and then played Glastonbury breakthrough stage with it. Brazil was a protest song about the world cup host country's treatment of its citizens whilst preparing for the tournament. The most recent song video is kind of a joke because the actor- Alex Launtner (?) has been in a lot of stuff in the UK and they kept getting mistaken for each other so he made it the video of them both fighting for the life because they can no longer coexist. His songs are always dense in meaning but as a young guy he also never tries to seem older than he is or anything. He's a really cool live performer and I can see you loving his stuff and his personality in general. I really love the first of his new singles- Beautiful Faces- the guitar on it is excellent. He did some live performances for radio 1 recently with just piano and they were absolutely beautiful. Loved this video.

It's really cool that you take the time to react to someone less popular... through videos like these, I've found a lot of my favourite artist... I think it's really cool, cause that way, those artist get the chance to become more popular and also people who normally wouldn't have noticed them do... so therefore, I'd love to see you react to a band called GOODWEATHERFORECAST. They are a german band but make english songs and they are really, really good! Heres a couple of Declan facts to give perspective on him: Declan wrote and recorded Number one alt hit 'Brazil' at the age of 15-16. 'Brazil' is a song written in protest, about the 2014 Fifa exploitation of Rio De Janeiro. In particular the pressure put on the community, by Fifa, to construct world class stadiums and amenities in a city struggling with mass poverty. Hilariously Fifa went on to feature another song by Declan titled 'Isombard' on their game FIFA17.

i loveee declan and his lyrics are so impactful! he wrote brazil when he was just 14 i believe and its about how the world cup is so damaging towards the country since all of their money goes towards it instead of actual beneficial things for the people and the environment. that comment about how its not our fault that we are "apathetic" about stuff really hits hard for a long time i was sheltered by my rather conservative christian family and until 8th grade i just bought what they said since i was homeschooled and had no other sources than my parents. almost as soon as i started going to school even though its still a private more sheltered school, and having access to social media and just the internet in general that illusion i lived in has just fallen apart and yes as my parents have observed i am not in a great mental place but its not bad social influences or bad music im listening to its the reality check of finally seeing just how fucked the world is and how little i can do about it. and really its not apathy at all. when i see all of the shit going on it makes me feel sick because i want to be able to do something to change what is happening but due to my youth and how different my views are on lots of things to my parents views i feel trapped and helpless. older generations keep calling the younger ones uninformed and ignorant when they are the ones who put us in a position where we cant rely on the systems they helped put in place and/or chose to keep. this has been a longer rant but i needed to vent.
