Considering you had NO idea what it was about, you REALLY should have started with the first song...not with a song from act 3. The entire musical is told through song. Meaning: If you listen to the songs in order, you get the full story. Highly recoment you do that. Seeing you react to the songs in order would be awesome! Edit: Also, the fan made animatics to this musical are GOLD! So if yoz are looking for some visuals to go along with your reactions: reaction to those animatics is your best shot!

I'm a little bit mad that you watched all the songs backwards because the show is the entire soundtrack with no dialog in between songs. It is really weird to listen to it backwards because you started with the later songs in the second half which have a much different feel than the first act and the middle of the musical. Also I recommend listening to "Non-stop", "Ten Dual commandments", and 1 or both of the "Cabinet battles". The cabinet battles are cabinet meetings in the form of rap battles and are one of the only times that the characters break reality because they pull mics out and have a full on rap battle. The cabinet battles are 2 of my favorite songs btw

Honestly I would recommend watching the whole musical in order! The songs are so much better if you know the story connected to it and it makes the transition for songs like Burn seem much more natural in between all the rap and hip-hop. I think you will enjoy Yorktown, History has its Eyes on You, and Who lives, Who dies, Who tells your story the most. But there are so many other good ones too.

There's a lot of Hamilton references in the Dream SMP, especially during the first season. It's basically "Hamilton but Hamilton loses his mind". The whole L'manberg war heavily references the musical: - There's clips out there of the gang singing Hamilton while building L'manberg, and they quote it often during this arc - Tommy and Dream's duel mirrors one from the musical - The whole "my unfinished symphony" thing comes from here too! There's a lot more I'm not remembering right now, but one that comes to mind is that, when Wilbur got revived, he referenced "What did I miss?", the opening song for act 2.

What led LMM to equate Hamilton with HipHop is that he read a biography about the man and realized that he was a word-smith who "wrote like he was running out to time" and the founding fathers were mostly "hungry" young men who wanted to see their world change for the better which, in Lin's mind just landed squarely on HipHop. --- Enjoy, my friend.

Please watch the entire musical! It’s genuinely amazing and has good humour. Now onto the facts to answer some of ur questions. So, the actor of Lafayette (the one who did the rap in Guns And Ships) isn’t French, he just does a great accent. In fact, he plays another great character who doesn’t have a French accent. Also, Guns and Ships holds the record for fastest rap in a musical ever, so… that’s a thing… Also, Burn, the first song you listened to, was near the end of the play, where there are a lot more calm songs, as a lot more tragedy happens and it’s a lot more emotional. The last song is actually amazing and from Eliza’s (same character who sung Burn) perspective as well.

Ooooh if you want to know more about the arrangements, you have to listen to the interviews Alex Lacamoire has done. He's a genius. I think he does a three part one on The Hamilcast and it was amazing to hear how he does what he does. Also, YES you should watch (or at least listen) to the whole thing. Everything will make sense then, especially Burn.

Interesting that the first song you picked from all the songs in Hamilton was Burn. 😁 It’s beautiful but not one of the iconic Hamilton song I would expect someone to pick first. I hope you listen to them all, in order after this, they tell the whole story. It’s a treat.

you need to listen to first burn! it has a lot of high notes and in my opinion i liked first burn a little more than i liked burn, simply because it delivered for the amp. philipa soo's vocals are of course amazing though and i would've killed to have her sing in first burn!

I've actually grown to like burn more. In the past I liked first burn more due to the crazy amount of high notes, but now I feel that burn goes a bit deeper in terms of Eliza's character. First burn was great and expressed anger in the best way, but I feel like burn also did that while maintaining a gut wrenching feeling of utmost depression. Idk that's just my opinion! Love first burn though.

You should watch the whole thing since the songs all lead into each other and it’s a lot easier to appreciate the music once you see how every song builds up to or upon each other.
