I love how you don't just judge the song on the band and their voices, you actually pay attention and critique the instruments used, the notes hit, the tone etc. and I love that! You should definitely react to their other less popular ones, because most people only know them as 'bubblegum pop' but their lesser known songs have lots of different sounds. Thank you for discovering this side of One Direction. I'm glad you recognise the difference and maturity in their music and it is due to songs like these that I feel that One Direction is underrated and underappreciated despite its popularity and fandom haha. When you said that the lyrics sound generic and like any other pop song, it’s really not, but I don’t expect you to know that. ‘Home’ wasn’t on the album. Fans, or rather Larry shippers, have speculated that that’s because this song is written by Louis (and Liam) for Harry. It’s about being true to yourself and your sexuality. The person has realised that they don’t want all these women - they would rather have one man, which for Louis would be Harry. It is assumed that Management didn’t allow this song on the album because it was too obvious, but Louis was having none of it because he worked so hard writing this song for Harry that he just leaked it. After the fans heard the song, they immediately loved it and started Project Home so it would get recognition, which worked. So really, this song has such a deeper meaning and is very important for the fans and Larry shippers, but if someone doesn’t understand the meaning then it’s easy for them to mistake this song as just another pop song. When is reality, it’s far from it.

Hey Matthew. I’m a subscriber who’s been following your reactions to all of one day and your Harry videos. I have to mention one thing please stop cutting the videos so short!!! We barely got to get in to the song at all and for many of us this song is so important and so beautiful. It was written by Louis But management didn’t want it on the album with if I could fly. But Louis leaked it and we all loved it. It was extremely personal, and supposedly was written as a song back to if I could fly which mentions home many times. I disagreed that it sounds like every other Lovesong out there. I do continue to love how you analyze the sounds and the voices in the harmonies and the pitches and the changes in tempo.
