His vocals have gotten worse. They were mediocre at best to start with, but he's continually gotten worse. I don't understand why these 'vocal coaches' are listening to studio versions of someone singing, when the pitch correction is so heavily used with people like Louis, due to the fact that they're completely unable to stay anywhere near on pitch. His studio versions are so vastly different from his live performances, and it's awful.

actually i truly admire louis and his bravery. last year his mom passed away from cancer and a few days after he performed his debut song just hold on dedicating it to her so this song means a lot to him&us. he's been through a lot of issues for the past years, when in 1d he was quite insecure about his vocal abilities but he believed in himself and is doing great things now. im really proud. his new song miss you is coming out this friday, he's already performed it and it sounds amazing, definitely my fave one so far :) so i suggest you react to miss you later (when the music video comes out n stuff)

Ahh! I love Lou to death. His voice, and accent (Donny boy) in my opinion is the most unique of One Direction and just listening to him talk and sing is pleasant. I kinda wish you would've googled not only the artist but maybe the backstory to the songs cause Just Hold On is about his mom when she was struggling with cancer and her dying wish was for him to perform it at the X factor and he did it a couple of days after she passed. Musically that's my least favorite as well but I thought it would've been nice for you to take that into consideration when listening to the lyrics.

This video is exactly the definition of why I like watching your videos. You don't just watch or listen to something for the sake of doing it. You analyze it and critic it. Point out the good and bad about something. And I agree with you when you say the teen choice performance sounded a bit of key. I have a feeling it might have something to do with they're in-ears since both of them sounded a bit off and on not just one. And I'm glad to enjoyed Louis material. He actually has a song coming out Friday Night GMT I believe if you would like to react to that song as well. Its called miss you. And I would love to see your reaction to it
@MathewMcKenna7 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I like that my videos are a little more like music reviews. I feel like quite a few people expect me to just shower the artist with praise, but there are always things that could be done better! I think you're right, especially because both of them sounded off, y'know? More likely to be a tech issue than two great singers messing up at the same time.

So I attended one of his live performances and comparing the videos I took to the video they posted (the X factor finale performance), I have noticed that they actually sound quite different. Since I study sound engineering, I think it may be because they apply filters to take the fans' screams out, and since these filters are applied to certain frequencies and his voice is so high, it might be why he sounds off key at certain points of his live performances.

I love Louis but I agree with you so much about the live Back To You! I have so much mixed feelings about it too, mainly because the low notes were quite of a mess, but then they start singing the high notes and I'm just like no way these are the same people singing those shaky notes from before. It's been a long while since that performance though, in his recent livestream he's handled low notes a lot better. I hope he gets a lot more vocal coaching and learn more techniques, his voice has so much potential!
