True story: I met mahalia at my aunts house in1970; she was very humble and sweet. She asked for writing paper and a pen; gave my sister and me her address and telephone number said, if you ever need me, here's how you can reach me. We never called. Mrs Jackson I say this with love in my heart. I lived in your building in Los Angeles. Johnny your brother known to me as MrJackson taught me so many things. I was honored to be in such a place and learn a lot about you from him. The family was good to my aunt, my sister and me and I will always remember your brother Johnny Jackson. Salute to you and everything you stood for while you where amongst the living. Opening up doors for our people and leading a Christian life. It was a blessing that she was able to sing and be noticed in her time of living! Racism was so strong and in full effect back in her days! But thankfully to the Lord, that she was guarded up by angels! She sung in lil tv movies back then as well..

Ms.Mahalia Jackson singing "Our Father", the Lord's Prayer, here, has brought me to tears. When my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ gave us this prayer; the first two words of it were Our Father, it is very humbling to realise we have the same Father as our precious Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Ms. Mahalia Jackson was a good and precious soul, and when she sang to God, her soul reached out to God and met him there. Rest in Peace Ms. Mahalia Jackson, God's faithful child. Amen.💖
