With 26 years of history to delve into, classic Doctor Who can be quite a daunting prospect... So where‘s the best place to start?
For the second time around, I'm subjecting- I mean showing Izzie some more old-school Doctor Who. So just what exactly did she make of Doctors Two, Three and Five? Stay tuned to find out...

For Colin, I'd go with "Attack of the Cybermen". Colin's era was a bit of an oddity, in that he often didn't get much to do in the first part of a story. "Attack" is one of the exceptions, and Part One is good in its own right. It's also pretty representative of his Doctor, I think.

Vengeance on Varos is the best Colin story.

@@Nikioko Maybe, but I wasn't picking the best, necessarily, but one of the better ones where Colin gets meaningful stuff to do. In "Varos", he spends more than half the first episode chatting with Peri in the TARDIS. Even after that, he doesn't really do much until about 20 minutes into the second (and last) episode. In a total of around 90 minutes, the Doctor only makes a meaningful contribution for about half an hour. So, whilst "Varos" is a decent Doctor Who story, it's fairly slim pickings for Colin's Doctor.

I recently started classic who after finishing the new 12th Season, I love it just as much as new who! I'm glad I have 26 more seasons to binge! And even more audio dramas afterwords!! DW is now my lifelong obsession.

@@iansmith4023 Money-saving tip: What I do is put a normal TV story in my DVD player and turn the brightness right down. That way I can pretend to be listening to an audio adventure, without forking out vast sums of cash on Big Finish :)

Spearhead From Space is a good introduction to classic Doctor Who. I found the pacing of the episodes took a bit of getting used to. It took some doing, but I'm so glad that I have an up to date collection.

to show off the 6th doctors personality, show her Trial of a Timelord and also Twin Dilema, I think its important to see how irratic he was when he first regenerated but for me Trial of a timelord really is Colin at his prime. and how ADORABLE is she taking it all in.......SHE IS A KEEPER :D

I'd show Izzy attack of the cybermen because attack is still recently early in collins era and in the first part has so much stuff in with the history of the show and with the cybermen because from the 5 seconds of her being jumpscared in earthshock when the cybermen come out of the wall that resembles it a lot and also its one of colins best

These are great fun, my girlfriend saw I had 6 mins of Utopia left on Netflix and suggested we should finish it, but then when she saw it was 2007 and said it was too old so guess I won’t bother with classic who 😂

1). My definition of the end of series 4: Turn Left is a prologue to the following two-parter. There you go - that settles it :) 2) 6th Doctor episode suggestion: Mark of the Rani,part 1. 3). Can we have a reaction to an entire story at some point? My vote would be the remaining 3 episodes of Terror of the Autons :)

The best Troughton stories without animations are Tomb of the Cybermen, Enemy of the World and The War Games. While the last one is a bit long, he could've taken one from the first two. And I prefer Victoria over Zoe.

Spearhead From Space is a great story as an introduction to the classic series. First 3rd doctor story, first story in colour and also first introduction to the Autons - much like Rose is first 9th doc story and first story for new who

For the 6th Doctor story, maybe Revelation of the Daleks or Vengeance on Varos (even though they were done in the 45 minute format).

I like both stories, but the trouble with "Revelation" is that the Doctor and Peri aren't involved in the main plot throughout the first episode, and for the first episode of "Vengeance" they're stuck in the TARDIS for 25 minutes, not doing much at all.

Knowing that the troughton episode was crowbarred in, maybe you should persuade her to watch the rest of that story as it is better than the first episode shows. A good action packed Troughton story is The Invasion or The Enemy Of The World.

Every Troughton story is good, except The Dominators and The Space Pirates, but we don't talk about those two, 2 is the best Doctor in my opinion

Liz was a scientist like the Doctor (in fact, he stole her job at UNIT and degraded her to his assistant), so both were thinking similar. But you need a companion of a different occupation asking all the questions (some sort of Doctor Watson) that it works. So we got Jo, who is an agent and escape artist, but not very good at science. In a role-playing party, Jo would be the typical rogue.

The Series 4 finale isn't a 3 parter. The Series 3 finale is the only 3 parter of the RTD era. The BBC officially class the Series 4 finale as a two parter.

The Time Meddler (not the worst Hartnell story but out of all his complete stories, it’s my least favourite.) 2). Love this channel but I would like to see Izzy watch and entire story from each Doctor. I’ve seen a few Nu-who you tubers watching the classic series and after they get over the special fx and sexism they fall in love with this version of the show equally. Love both stories, but the Sixth Doctor doesn't do much throughout the first part of The Two Doctors, and doesn't even show his face until about 10 minutes in... and all he does then is go fishing! Part One of "Vengeance" is even worse, as he and Peri don't join the main plot until about 25 minutes have gone by.

It’s a separate story that only has 1 or 2 plot points relevant to the next two episodes while almost everything in Utopia is important for the next two episodes which is why it is a three parter and is officially classed by the BBC as a 3 parter while Series 4 is only a 2 parter.
