@rebeccaabbondanzieri2484
@rebeccaabbondanzieri2484 Жыл бұрын
There in no such thing as animal whisperer. There are educated equestrians who know how to read the horse language, and there are equestrian who don't know. Everyone that is involved with horses should know the basic of it. The horse was just nervous for whatever reason and the guard calmed him down, really nothing special, everyday business for horse people.

Agreed. Wonder if this is a relatively new horse to this horrible duty. Noise sensitive, calling to his buddies. Agree this trooper did a great job calming him and avoiding an incident. But I HATE watching them get surrounded by hoards, treated like a petting zoo and background for stupid people taking stupid photos. Think they should be off limits for touching without specific permission. And these disappointed tourists being called off would be the first ones to holler if something happened. UGH! Love the horses and guards, hate the dumb people.

The soldiers have more patience than me, this horse was clearly upset at not having a herd member beside it in the other arch. Yet no matter how much he tells tourists to keep their distance, they ignore him and try talking to the horse, like they think they are the next horse whisperer who will save the day.🙄 Omg give me strength they really need to block full access to all tourists. The constant petting and grabbing the reins are beyond annoying for me and I'm just watching, it's got to be worse for the soldiers and horses. 😮‍💨

He was calling and couldn't hear the others of his group. He calmed somewhat when the other horse arrived. What a kind rider. The rider did everything he could to support his partner to calm and reassure. He let the horse state his opinion and respected it and just supported him to complete the task. The more the horse does this the more comfortable he will be in time. You gotta start somewhere.

So you're a horse expert yourself, are you @SMariaKS? To feel compelled to dis on those of us who have been partnering with and learning from horses for 40+ years. Cheap shot. There is no doubt the guard is gently and respectfully working to keep his mount calm, and that horses prefer company which can make less experienced animals get restless and agitated but the guard has to do his job. He can't do any more to assess the cause of his horse's unease because being on duty restricts him from doing anything more than stroking the horse's neck and remaining calm himself. Horse 'experts' and those of us who have done duty on horseback recognize this and can also see the signs of the tongue over the bit.

@@kurikaitiaki I’d say you are doing the same in your comment. You know nothing about me, or my experience with horses. You are guessing what is wrong just like anyone else commenting. It’s obvious the guards first duty is to calm the horse and do what he is trained to do. He does a good job of it.

Growing up around horses and learning from the older guys was a great experience. Always stay calm when dealing with upset horses. Speak in a calm voice and use a gentle but firm touch or stroke. Like people horses have bad moods and sick days. Stomach aches will really change a horse's mood. A sore mouth from the bite. This guard learned well about calming a horse. The horse obviously trusts the guard. Makes me wonder if the horse and guard are always together. I would hope that is the way of things.

It's obviously hearing another horse, horses in our fields near us where doing it the other day, shouting from one field to the next, or its a relatively new guardsmans horse. 👍❤️ Gorgeous anyhow. It's hearing something by the position of it ears.

Parents, Read the book, Black Beauty to your kids. Nothing to do with the King’s Guard horses, but a delightful story. But I guess not many read books these days, am sure there are some out there that do. Yes, this Kings Guard was great in calming down his beautiful Black Beauty. ❤❤Auckland, New Zealand.

The average person or the non-horse person have no clue of how hard it is for the horse to stand their for hours on end, both physically and mentally. The guardsmen really do have their hands full during that whole time. Horses get bored easily when in their stalls for hours on end and they can move around in there. Standing in one spot tends to cause swelling in most horses so a lot of work and care goes into these noble animals to maintain their health. I feel for both the horse and the guardsmen for having to maintain this post. It is so not easy. God bless them all.

@@jacqiwilhite6080 Thanks I realized that after I wrote that. It is still hard to do that though. To just sit in the same spot for one whole hour and make your poor horse do the same and him on concrete. It is hard on their legs. It can cause swelling, but we do have stuff to conquer that. I wouldn't make it out there past ten minutes with those disrespecting asses before they hauled me back in. LOL

The Guard was wise to/did calm down this seemingly agitated horse. It’s amazing that the woman with a very young child (maybe 2-3?) who, when reaching out & patting the horse’s neck seemed to calm him. The Horse Guardsman should be commended for his actions. Even horses can wake up cranky!

staying very calm is very difficult in many situations, but especially if you are a "guard" on a nervous horse.. I think the animal is lonely so he keeps hearing his voice regularly.. calm down but boy it will be fine animal, jeez that gaurd stays very calm and the horse calms down itself, I couldn't do that as a nervous type, I had only become more nervous.... Hopefully he got some company later that made him calm down a bit.. Well guys we all suffer from work pressure sometimes, unfortunately it's also part of work...

@@oxorox972 It's simply not possible there - it's a public pavement. Keep those on the pavement some distance away and they'd be walking in the road. The tourists are there because of the attraction - change the attraction and you don't get the tourists. If you don't have the tourists there's no point in them being there anymore. It really isn't a problem at all 99% of the time, and for that less than 1% it's clickbait. Out of around 400 minutes daily public duties at Horseguards, these sites are lucky to find a minute they can monetise with a clickbait title.

I wonder if the 1st horse wasn't smelling something odd, as the other horse started tossing its head almost as soon as it came out. Horses do have a much better sense of smell than we humans. 'Course the 1st horse could have been just lonely and wondering where all its mates were at too. Horses are also herd animals and really are companionable to each other.
