I to ,have become the crazy dog man,I spend a King's randsom ,buy'n not only dry food ,but leg qtrs & ribs ,along with real butter to melt & put on everything they eat ,I am often on the road & I worry like I have teenagers home alone,they have heatsd areas in the cold & come into the A/C when I'm home in the summer,they sometimes puke & crap in the house,I dutifuly clean everything up,I owe THEM more everyday ,they are a treasure !

Sorry about your husband . My wife and I are going on 41 years . Three dogs and two cats over that span . The last dog we just got from a rehoming site . She’s a staffy lab mix just an adorable personality , very loving , but humans can’t play properly with her lol . We just let her run with 15 other dogs on the beach on Canada Day . I so hope you read this, you mentioned he came into your life in your 30s and will leave your life in your 40s. I really hope hope you think about this. I’ve always been a dog guy, I’ve had some incredible dogs who I still miss with all my heart. The end doesn’t justify your life together, don’t let it jade you into never getting another doggo. Take your time, comes to grips with it, then give another pupper his best life. We really don’t deserve them.

WFH today. Sitting on bed with laptop. My pupper is right beside me. 85# sharpei-pitmix. Got him from couple who lived in Bronx,NY when he was 4 months. He'll be 11 in December. My dog definitely awakened my soul. Beautifully said. I lost him in December 2023. He was almost 18 yo. I love him so much & right now I just can’t get another dog. …..so I got a PT job at a doggie daycare(along with my full time job). I adore every dog I take care of there. They bring me more joy than I ever imagined they would. I’m hoping I can adopt a rescue at some point in the future. In the meantime, I get to love 25-30 dogs for 6 hours straight, 3 days a week!! I am so grateful. ❤
