While your setup works. There really is no reason to mount the hydraulic jack upside down. The same amount of pressure is the same either way and mounting the jack right side up enables you to use another jack replacement easily if you ever have a failure... Just a thought! Thumbs Up!

Rethink, your way would make things way more difficult. If you look you'll see why

I built a 12 ton upside down jack press. And they won't work w/o a oil tank on top to keep the bottle full, and I just realized what the pipe in the bottle is for. I don't have the cross beam, old shocks and retract springs and don't need them. And my jack slides from side to side.

Left handed nightmere

I have found it more useful to be able to slide the jack side to side , enabling off set applications. I realise that eliminates the guides , however I have not had any problems. Nice looking job 👍.

Very nicely done! Tip of the hat to you from east Texas.

Either this film is reversed or everything on this jack has left handed threads

Good job, but click bait,in a way. Thought it was about making a old jack function again. Still a fun video for those having the tools and expertise.

All that for a crappy woodsplitter? Maybe a wedge mounted on the jack would give better results. Or a hatchet.

I don't think he was demonstrating wood splitting... It was more to show that it could *press* stuff. You know, like the steering knuckle shown later. There are many uses for a lightweight press like this, and he didn't spend $100 on it.
