I'm 24, I can safely say it's not the time taken but the experiences you have, as you age you just have more time for the experiences. I feel a lot more like Dr Charles than Dr Reese. (A few years either way makes a massive difference though, I can speak to some 20 and 30 year olds exactly the same, but some I get completely lost and don't have a clue.) Everyone is different, and when you know you could die at any moment, your view on things changes drastically.

People get lonely in assisted living facilities. To different degrees, they're cut off from their friends and family. The feeling of abandonment is not a rare occurrence. So, humans being humans, we seek companionship and make compromises when we see fit to fulfill that basic need. And when I say compromises, I don't mean in a toxic, abusive way. I mean in a way that doesn't actively harm one or multiple of the parties involved. I mean in a way that healthy relationships require compromise.

@mcnoneya

And probably in a way they wouldn’t have considered morally appropriate in their younger yrs. Loneliness can make you do things you wouldn’t normally do. Especially since many older people are basically abandoned by their families and depending on their mobility and the workers their the nurses themselves. My mom specializes in elderly care before she had to stop working in the field and work more with paperwork than people but she always had a soft spot for the elderly. She couldn’t stand the nursing homes as the patients were always so sad she said and the workers didn’t always pay attention to them. Just because they can’t communicate doesn’t mean they aren’t aware of the way you are treating them.

You know how they say single people give the best relationship advice? Here's one - people are less likely to cheat, sleep around or go after other partners if its not forbidden. Open relationships oftentimes last longer as there is less distrust or suspicion when partners spend time with other people.

If your partner suggests an open relationship, basically what they're telling you is you're not enough.
@zilesis1
@zilesis1 Жыл бұрын
it depends on the people. often times people don't want an "open relationship". a lot of the time one of the partners has their eye on 1 specific other person they want to sleep with. so they pressure the other partner into an open relationship because the basically want ot have an affair without the risk of losing the comforts of their current relationship. it's usually pretty easy to tell because in these situations the person pushing the "open relationship" will try to close it back up as soon as they had their fill with the side-piece and will actually be pretty uncomfortable and sulky if their partner starts getting properly into the openness and refuses to close the relationship
@iamaylacat3935

@@zilesis1 Definitely a situational thing. Some people want an open relationship so they can get away with cheating, there is no doubt about it. @@iamaylacat3935 tbh, i think my solution if my SO suggested an open relationship would be to propose perpetual threesomes first, lol. i figure if they realy only want to do it to cheat, the idea of bringing their spouse/partner along to date their new crush would weird them out too much but if they're actually just trying to romantically experiment, a few threesomes before the relationship opens up completely should be fine with them, lol

@@oliviarogers2808 That's an oversimplification. Even when a person is in a mono relationship, there will be other people in their life, like friends and family, because a person who is "enough" doesn't exist, we are social beings. Sometimes I dislike that woman. She always jumps the assumptions to the man doing wrong. I easily saw her face the moment he was talking about his other girls. She was thinking many things probably (just not gonna say) but obviously by how he speaks, his mature behavior, the doctor's professional opinions, and the other girls' opinions. He is not a bad person. So back off lady, jumping to conclusions every time can just get you into trouble.

I don’t know about love life but really those seniors can move fast when they want to. I just looked away for a second and the next thing I knew the old lady who was on her crutches and had dementia already made her way down the elevator and nearly escaped from the retirement home.

I completely understand them, and as long as no one decieves or breaks the consitions of the relationship- theres no harm. Personally i will always be monogamous due to my brain wanting only one single man- never desiring to cheat- and wanting one person to my self... Soulmates sort of thing. Though im not against no harm polygamy
