I had the fortune to be with Karen and Clayton / OMBE team in that trip to Nicaragua. I am 57 years old and also started to learn to surf at 50. I have done several surf camps and programs with other coaches but my improvements were very little. It was until I discovered OMBE program that I really saw big changes and improvements. When I came back from Nicaragua I went surfing to my local spot and I was amazed of how many waves I was riding. I could not believe how fast my style and technique improved and changed. Yes it takes persistence and determination to accomplish anything in life but without the correct trainning and coaching program your learning curve is longer. Trust me OMBE is the right path in this learning journey and if you are lucky to meet Clayton and been coached by him you will see a huge leap in your progession. By the way he is an awesome humble human truly devoted to his art. A friend with alot of knowledge that you will want in your quiver.

Go Karen, so awesome to see your stoke and improvement... great coaching works if the student is all in! At 75 YO, my goal is always to surf better today, than I did yesterday. With my videos, I try to inspire surfers to push harder, expect MORE as they age... not less. I am finding ways to mitigate the challenges that come with aging... and believe me, after 70 the challenges multiply. This summer I have been reeling back the years and living the dream! I just finished the latest OMBE video about "Surfing on a Rail".... I took notes and will be applying them tomorrow!!! Thank You!!!

Thank you so much. Clayton has improved my surfing just through using the Ombe method. This story was so inspiring. My name is also Karen and I also started surfing at age 50. 6 years later and a few various non surf related injuries later, I feel like I have to remember to have fun instead of feeling frustrated. I tend to stay in my comfort zone which has gotten smaller. This video really helped me to feel like it’s not over and the wave of my life has yet to come. Thank you again.

Yeeeeew! Karen is amazing. Love the video and her style. Ombe please open up more surf retreats like your one in the Mentawaii's. Just learned to surf by taking a 3 month trip to Oahu and in that amount of time I was able to ride a shortboard all cause of Clayton and the crew! Would love if I could try and book a time to surf with my heroes.

My wife and her girl friend started surfing at 50. We go on surf trips about 3 or 4 times a years but she won't surf our local beaches. She's still improving and loves those gentle point breaks like Pl### and .... The hipster invaders are an issue at many of the softer point waves like Byron. We most not tell the speckled hordes about the other places
