This plan avoids many of the problems seen in other "tiny" apartments. It has a normal double bed in a private compartment (not a loft bed, a Murphy bed or convertible couch), a kitchen with decent-sized fridge and counter space, and a shower stall (not a wet room). I could live in this one!

@Beumadine Sweevy True. You'd have to look forward to going to the grocery store every 2 days, because there's no room to put anything. I saw one of these tiny apartment videos once, where the apartment literally had no kitchen. The guy dined out 3 meals a day, 7 days a week.

It's not the "way up in the sky" that's an issue. That part is kinda nice. It's the "trudge, trudge, trudge" when you move in or any time you have to haul stuff up. I lived on 4th and 7th floor dorms. Climbing up to the 7th floor was easier when I did it because I was choosing but had no choice with the 4th.

Good architecture is never imposing, but subtle. You don't know why but you feel at ease in the space. It caters to your needs quietly and gracefully. The windows are also a design element seen from outside. All it needs is a rooftop garden!

@@islandsunset Well I can only speak about the western capital I am living in. There is a massive missbalance between amount of people looking for a flat and the offer of payable appartments. One of the most profitable business is here to take e.g. a 3 room flat and create 3 one room studios out of it. Relatively the people pay then more for this smaller flats then. It is a good business for the owner. Same with the tiny appartments...more people per space = means more profit. It goes so far that here people in their 40s start to live again in shared flat like when they were Students. They "market" this as alternative and new lifestyle but to sum up it is just a reactions to the ridculous market prices!!! Also as soon as you have a partner or kids this whole thing is not working. Then we are going in the directions like in the US where people live in trailer parks. Can you imagine living in a trailer would be advertised as "Cool and Trendy"?

@@terrybaby6146 He was talking about $3,500 USD. It might be even be a bit on the low side considering that Sheung Wan is just West of Central. Even at this rate, which is just above $27K HKD. That's the salary for an average worker for the entire month. With the space, it is tough to get two people to fit even with not a lot of spaces. Certainly, they will need to pack light. @@wahana3115803 I did buy a lot of storage cabinets from IKEA and self install. Quite a nightmarish affair. Main reason is because the public housing I am in, HDB of Singapore, the wall is not straight. I ask IKEA how their installation would be like and they gave unsatisfactory answers. Saying would not make special arrangements for such curved walls. To be on the safe side I self installed. The end result maybe was 70 percent satisfactory, due to one man job and also someone chased me to return the drill. That said, the solution was not cheap. I didn't calculate how much I spent. But it might be 10,000 SGD just for the living room. Using Besta series. I used their Effectik series for the study room. That series is no longer selling. I highly suspected that the material is proned to growing mould. I encountered it on my shelf. I also installed upper cabinets in the kitchen. All one man job with no assistance. I think the best solution is to have as little possession as possible.
