If you can the best time to vacation for INTJ is between projects. Party time or vacation for INTJ happens after a project completed and before a new one starts.

This is so accurate.

This question of relaxation for an INTJ changes with age. In my 20 and 30's work dominated...In 40s you discover vacation can be a form of solitude / recharging with adventure.. In the 50's your realize vacation fits your idea of the solitude you need to have space to dream of what your future life can be......Retirement becomes the self fulfilled realization of your life plan and vacation is for nothing but pure unfettered relaxation and solitude for self reflection....LIke a light switch I went from a pure unadulterated world of engineering & construction (of planning and building) to becoming a potter, musician, exploring every curiosity of life, and beach bum self reflecting on why I even physically exist (do I?) ...living the INTJ life at its most purest level.

LMAO - I've heard this trajectory before with driven INTJs reflecting on their life in their 50s/60s. I'm excited for it, but want to grind now and see what I'm made of, I can reflect later and see if it was all worth it. Did you have kids?

I always knew I was different (deadhead rebel with friends and chameleon of absolute upstanding character in public settings) ....couldn't conceive of putting my self thru hell raising one of my own kind....so was never and still am not comfortable around kids....so no kids....when people ask...I give them this look of horror, gasp, and reply OHHH SHIT or F*** I knew I forgot to do something!!!@@GhostofJung

Now as an ENTP, i would have a really good solution to this problem. What happens if you pick up a hammer smack it onto your phone. It may sometimes require hard measures, but you can make the INTJ use Se.

Fantastic idea!! (fellow ENTP) 😎👍🏼

Also comments as an entp. Not being able to relax. Peanuts. Not being able to do anything. Now that's the challenge. (Even though my definition of doing anything may be different than most, is learning about all 16 personality types doing something, well it sort of is, as it is part of my study of human behaviour (not my study(yet))) We'll see

For vacations, I set a task. Take photos of... visit the .... that sort of thing. I don't overload a day with too many tasks so that I can get the task done with plenty of time to spare incase a place has more to do than I anticipate. And I bring a book or tablet to fill any voids that arise (bathroom lines ...). For example, I gave a whole day on a trip to Barcelona, to visit Montserrat Monastery. For these types of things I try not to read ahead and learn while I'm there so I can engage with the people there. If I read ahead then I tend to spend too much time pointing out all the things I learned and others don't always like that. When I got to the bus to take me back to the hotel I got on the internet and started reading. It gave me a bunch of 'oh, that's what that was' moments and made the ride go by quickly. I like cruises, there is a schedule to events and dining and excursions. I pick an excursion from the list because they fit into the ship's schedule. If I really liked a place I list it as a place to learn more about and visit locally in the future. To be fair, I probably wouldn't travel except my dad looks forward to the trips. Also, I always try to go the same time of the year when it isn't vacation season.

I also don't have any good idea if I have to do any vacation. Watching movies is truly a vacation. But if someone give me an interesting recommendation and fits my spare time, I will just hop in

Our inability to live in the moment because our minds are so future biased is why in the future we become very nostalgic- we didn’t get to experience our past fully. For myself, work has become “out of sight, out of mind”. Life is not meant to continuously burden oneself. That can lead to darker roads. Rest and relaxation can help you to accomplish more in the long run than worrying about work the entire time you are supposed to be relaxing. Deanna definitely gives off ESTJ vibes.

Not to me. ESTJ want to brag a lot about very normal, average, everyday accomplishments, and seem btaggish but also bullish around other people (which grates on my nerves). Granted, I do not know her personally, but her quietness while her husband is talking doesn't strike me as ESTJ. ESTJ typically make my skin crawl a bit by their talking, and ISTJ have a nerdy side like me; we nerd out in conversation pretty well.

I have so much trouble staying in the moment too. On vacation i allow myself to do work while everyone is asleep. One thing i fear for you though while on a cruise is that when an INTJ removes all distractions our creativity goes up. And we have to do something with these ideas or we will be less present. This is a problem i face during internet-less time. The solution is to carry around a notepad and jot everything down. Once written down you know the idea wont be lost and then you can go back to being present

😆 2:50 Deanna smiled at that one. Lol.
