WOW, what a surprise, I wasn't expecting that! Thanks a lot for playing, it was a great pleasure to see you enjoying the game that much and to appreciate all the little attentions that I put in it. 30:29 As a solo developer constantly doubting my design choices, I have no words for how good it feels to hear that. Thanks. I listened carefully to your comments, some of them I had already planned to add or improve, this is great feedback. Some comments for everybody: - You can smash crates and stuff, it requires a few extra hits. - Yes, trophies will have a use in the game, this is why they are pickable (not in the demo thought). - Sorry for the rope not triggering the trap when you throw your sword, it should have worked, will be fixed. You can throw something at it thought ^^ - If you want to discover even more secrets: you can cut banners with swords... (or burn them. Well, you can burn everything..)

The book "The Wise Adventurer" at 24:13 telling us to "avoid running around without looking" and signed "Leeroy the Wise" is an Easter Egg, or at the very least a callback to the now infamous Leroy Jenkins in World of Warcraft. If I remember the story correctly that player was AFK while guild leaders explained how to kill a raid boss and when he came back he charged the boss and wiped the unprepared raid.

I think you'd really enjoy the game Arx Fatalis, it basically has all the trappings you're talking about. It is an older game, so it looks pretty PS1 Hagrid in terms of pretty. But it has physics based puzzles, secret tunnels that even let you access end-game areas really early for some sweet loot grabs, you can loot meat off of the rat enemies you kill and cook it for food, and you can even collect flour, mix it with a bottle of water to make dough, then place the dough next to a fire and bake it into bread.
@MrDelightfulRPG2 жыл бұрын
Yep. Arx Fatalis is incredible, the spiritual follow-up to Ultima Underworld and its sequel that many missed. Key with Arx Fatalis though, is to download the mod that fixes up the gesture magic system. I never got the mod, and instead, chose to power through it vanilla style, thinking people were exaggerating. Nop! Arx Fatalis never liked how I drew my runes, so I would spend minutes just trying to trace out that haste spell EXACTLY as the game wanted before each battle. It worked, but it made being a master mage beyond me, at least, in the base game. In short, for anyone who sees this, if you get Arx Fatalis, get the Arx Libertatis Gesture mod too; MUCH frustration will be spared! Anyway, if you liked Arx Fatalis, and like the Immersive Dungeon Crawling in NeverLooted Dungeon, check out the masterpiece in the making Monomyth. I recorded my experiences with the early kickstarter demo complete with relevant commentary a bit ago, and if you like Immersive Dungeon Sims you’ll likely love it. I do.

This has a metric ton of potential! The humor is right on the money, it isn't such a light touch that you can miss it, but it doesn't completely dominate the tone of the game. If I had to put my finger on it, I'd say it reminds me of the humor found in Zork games, or perhaps Discworld. A legal disclaimer absolving the owners of harm befalling entrants to the Dungeon is precisely the kind of thing I'd see coming from the desk of Terry Pratchett. The gameplay seems solid and well thought-out, and the attention to detail in terms of roleplaying in-the-moment (like searching for hidden buttons, rewarding a player that pokes around carefully and learns from environmental clues, etc.) is something I haven't seen in some time. Good work, dev! I'm looking forward to the release!

This looks perfect for me. I love the secret finding aspect. It reminds me of playing Wolfenstein in my classic Mac days. Two things I would want to try would be throwing the crates you can't break with a sword, or breaking one by swinging another at it, and possibly feeding that first rat the cheese you find in the beginning. Those planks might be usable in case your sword breaks, but they might also be used to throw onto traps to trigger them, or walk over them.

Kudos to them👍

NeverLooted Dungeon is very fun. The key of the Immersive Dungeon Crawler is that they suck you into their dark, interactive world, matching much of your in-game perception to that of your character, giving them the ability to grab you like few other games can. If you like NeverLooted Dungeon, consider wishlisting it, it really helps the dev out. And feel free to consider other Immersive Dungeon Crawlers you might have missed like Ultima Underworld, Legend of Grimrock, or Dungeon Master, or the masterpiece in the making Monomyth. With each success of the Immersive Dungeon Crawlers, they draw more eyes onto this intense, old school dungeon crawling style, and should really help cultivate a hunger for the old ways. 👍

I can't explain why (perhaps it's the way the light fades at distance) this reminds me of the first UNREAL game. Also the layout of the environment. Very pleasant. Textures are also reminiscent of the dungeon crawler FATE but in a 1st person instead of 3rd person/top down experience. Reminds me that 'photo real' environments use a lot of resources which could be better served in world size/design (Minecraft anyone?)
