Nevermore used to be one of my favorite bands. Jeff Loomis is one of the best metal guitarists out there. I could recommend so many great tracks. My suggestion would be to just add Dead Heart In A Dead World to your playlist. It's perfection.

Nevermore was one of THE bands that got me into metal, great to see you appreciate their quality music!. If you want a more melow and sorrowful song you should check out the track "Dreaming Neon Black"

Great choice. You've now done three songs from this album though. You have to check out some older stuff if you are not familiar. Dead Heart in a Dead World is one of the best albums ever recorded. Every album has some golden tracks. Narcosynthesis, The River Dragon Has Come, I Voyager, and The Seven Tongues of God are some good ones.

Now that you've listened to Sentient , you must listen to The learning. From what I remember, the songs are meant to go together, like a part 1 and 2.

This Godless Endeavor is their best album (and one of the best metal albums period). You should hear some more of their aggressive, un-traditional songs such as: The Psalm of Lydia, Seed Awakening, Poison Godmachine and She Comes In Colors. And if you want more awesome, eerie "ballad"-like songs such as Sentient 6, listen to: Passenger, Sell My Heart For Stones, Deconstruction and The Heart Collector. The lyrics are absolutely top tier in those songs (even though Warrel Dane in general was the best lyricist I know of). You should read along when hearing Nevermore songs, because his lyrics made any song (gem or stone) shimmer like a diamond in the sun! In general, Nevemore was too good for the metal community. Warrel (vocals), Jeff (guitar + songwriter) and Van Williams (drummer) are/were all among the best within their respective fields. 1996-2005 Nevermore was especially outstanding!

Also if you haven't heard it yet please have a listen to Final Product and Narcosynthesis. The progression in both of those are unbelievable. And if you want a more chill vibe Emptiness Unobstructed and Insignificant beautiful songs of theirs.

Nevermore comes right after Rage for me, it certainly has been the soundtrack of many crucial parts of my life and the darkest too, such a shame Warrel is no more. I'd like to see you react to some song fron The Politics of Ecstasy album, for me, the heaviest in terms of lyrics and the sound to go with them. "The Seven tongues of God", " Next in line", "Tiananmen man" is engraved in my brain as are those horrid images from that day almost 30 years ago. The first time I listened this album I had to listen again because it was difficult to absorve. I thought I knew heaviness, I listened Death Metal almost exclusively at the time, but this album showed me the power of good lyrics and thoughtful music to complete them. Oops, I talk too much, just give this album a listen, with or without reaction. Thanks

I highly recommend you some songs from the band Sanctuary. Sanctuary started 1985 and published their debut 1988. 1990 they released their second album. 1992 they disbanded. After disbanding Warrel Dane, Jim Sheppard, and Jeff Loomis went on to form Nevermore. The other two members of Sanctuary founded the band Undone. Warrel Dane sang on both Sanctuary albums. The sounds of each album are so different that I recommend you to listen to a song from each album. from the Into the Mirror Black album, you should react to Eden Lies Obscured.
