ISL is derived from BSL so there are many similarities. However, I find ASL easier to learn and use.

Whoever saying that he forgot to make X.. Just cross both your index fingers together in the form of X and it will make that of Indian Sign Language.

The closest may be Gestuno, or more recently International Sign. Its not very common at all. Used mostly among those heavily active in the World Federation of the Deaf (WFD). The average Deaf person in most any country wouldn't be using either one. Just their country's SL. Just like there's no ONE VERBAL language.

@@sag4938 unfortunately there isn't. Because words have different spelling and some signs are dependant on the first letter of the word. There are a lot of similarities though. Learn one and the others will come easily. If you speak English start with ASL. American sign language
