@@aayotechnology Investors purchasing homes in cities only to rent them out via Airbnb and violating regulations (e.g. max number of days you're allowed to rent out your home) which Airbnb also does nothing about to prevent and ignoring legislation, resulting in neighbourhoods dying out because locals no longer have "neighbours", no fixed communities, and fewer social contacts because it's only people coming in for brief holidays. At the same time, it drives up housing prices, which makes it impossible for people who are looking for a home to actually live in to buy property. Airbnb is less of a "local host offering a local experience to visitors" experience, and more of "corporate investors hollowing out cities and basically renting out properties at far higher prices than allowed for actual rental properties by pretending they're holiday homes" thing. You can find a bunch of articles about it.

@H1delta
@H1delta 3 жыл бұрын
If you look at the inside, there's really no place to put it w/o ruining the symmetry of the interior. Also, it's not only a fire place but a piece of art. To relegate it to some other part of the house would be an injustice to the piece as well as the artist. To me, the house was built with function over form but I believe it met both criteria equally. If one wants to see an adulterated view of the water, one only has to get up off their butt. But to solve your concern, I would probably add a small deck that is surrounded by 3 foot glass (not flexiglass as they turn yellow after a while) walls to not obstruct the view and to prevent people from falling below and deep enough to accommodate two small tables and four chairs so one can seat, drink one's favorite beverage and enjoy the scenery. I'm aware that they will have to change the fixed windows to sliding doors. FTR, there are door manufacturers that make sliding doors unobtrusive. Some are even frameless.

For the bed area it might be nice. I actually don't quite understand why to put the fireplace right in front of the view... I wanna see the sea and not the fireplace when I sit there.. Of course it is interesting to see new places that has been designed in a multifunctional way right away. But only very few people can afford them. A lot of people live in small apartments that have been there for many years. I found those videos where old tiny apartments were redesigned more interesting and more inspiring because you could use them to redesign and improve your own apartment.

@WantedKi1ler
@WantedKi1ler 3 жыл бұрын
I would disagree on the affordable part. The main expense would be the land, not the home. There are many home building shows out there you can watch (impossible builds on hulu) that are stunning and extremely cheap that follow this exact style of building. 2 "boxes" built separately and then "push" together, probably round 30-60k. The real expense was probably going local and the fine luxury/high end items inside the house
@ViolentMLG
@ViolentMLG 3 жыл бұрын
@@2_Bike_is_Life I disagree. There is space for a washer dryer (it was in the video), a vacuum could easily be laid up against a wall or I'm sure you could find a creative solution in the storage space, 'dryfood', same thing. Keeping the place aesthetically clean would be the challenge. Regardless, you said you can't live in 'these pods' which I assume you're referring to pods like this? I mean, the only thing this thing is missing is maybe a large closet for storage, that's about it, but you could easily live without it if you had to. I think maybe 500SQFT would be the sweet spot with a storage space.

It's a beautiful property and spot, seriously big props to the entire space, but I do agree; the floating "feel" is a bit ruined with the structural support as it's almost flush with the picture window that overlooks, maybe it's just the angle of the shot. Of course you have to consider the structural integrity of the building, but it is a bit jarring.

It's interesting how the pod project presents a reminiscence towards the home with a living room where the fireplace functions as a regulating point, where the materiality encourages the warmth of the home and where the direction of the room towards the landscape, transports the user to a world natural and homey. An impressive place to inhabit. Also, it is a project with small dimensions but its interior design, eliminating internal enclosures turning the place into an open space; the implementation of skylights and large windows gives it an interesting visual breadth. Amazing project!

I love the simplicity and the look of it,the only thing that concerns me is the black counter slab and the black bathroom. I don't mind the dark moody feel,but I sure know it's a handful to clean. Black gets dirty very easily and looks way messier than light colors. Especially the sink basin. That will get dirty in no time,and it will always look like it's dirty ( even if properly cleaned) That's something to consider knowing many people will use it...

@@RcsN505 As someone who has a black tiled backsplash in my kitchen ( big black tiles). They get dirty very easily, especially if i shine the accent light that's above them. They still look great,will not change them because of the kitchen vibe. But black it's definitely not for a bathroom. Too much hassle, At least for me.

Awesome design ! I could see myself living in one of those. It looks so clean with no clutter, and a very light theme shared by all the details in the design. The fireplace is amazing, the space usage is amazing, the bedroom skylight is a great idea and mid light openings makes this place freaking well designed ! Bravo !

@Ari GSD ... WHY would You Immediately Assume that ALL Potential RENTERS would be "LOW LIFES" ❓❓ then You Presume that ALL AIR B+B Customers are GOOD ... Or at least, BETTER than the Potential RENTERS ... WHY IS THAT EXACTLY❓🤔 I MEAN, WHY WOULD YOU THINK THAT ?? THE MAIN REASON PEOPLE ARE STUCK PAYING OVERLY INFLATED RENT IS BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT ALLOWED to OWN a TINY HOME‼️ WELL ... THEY CAN OWN ONE ..BUT.. THE CITIES DO NOT ALLOW THEM WITHIN THEIR CITY LIMITS ... I BELIEVE IT HAS TO BE AN "UNINCORPORATED AREA" ..or.. IT HAD to HAVE Been APPROVED as a "TRAILER PARK" ‼️‼️ THEY JUST WANT EVERYONE TO BE TRAPPED INTO a RIDICULOUS MORTGAGE on a House that is LARGER THAN THEY NEED ... IT's a BROKEN SYSTEM ‼️💔😨👎😩😣👎👎👎

Sensational! This feels like a masterclass in interior design and modern minimalism. The most direct proof that style is not limited by the amount of space or resources but is something much more sublime and even a little mystical. I loved the way you organized the space and made it look even bigger than it is. In addition, you knew how to take advantage of the views that the location of the place can give you very wisely. Idyllic! (Btw, I died with the fireplace design D:) Recently, my wife and I wanted to make improvements to our little studio and we realized that the area could be used much better by removing many unnecessary things and improving the necessary ones. We bought a Protractor desk at Barcelona Designs and completely changed the color palette. We are liking the results. Thanks for this video!
