Interesting choice of words there, buddy. When I say the game or players suck, are you oversimplifying my views for your own agenda? Sure, some aspects of the game and players absolutely suck balls-no big surprise, right? Not sure why you're so worked up about it. And you're exaggerating the number of quitters; in reality, only a tiny fraction of my viewers have mentioned quitting. Unless you want to tally up who said they quit versus those who haven't, a battle you'd surely lose. Why does it even matter? Are you implying I've got the power to make people quit? Indeed, I'm 51 and started because of the D&D ties and stayed for the social access. I'm extremely introverted and voice chat has been super helpful for me to ooen up. It just happened with this game. But I've beem playing it for over 8 years so it's a bit of an obsession but also helps me relax and unwind... Unless I'm doing an endgame dungeon/trial. Lol.

i played this game for like 6 years now, played it hardcore and casually. it seems the big problem its facing that there is not enough casual group activity that rewarding and fun to play, there is a huge amount of guilds with no players in it. also for the newer ppl this game looks old tbh, i know that graphic is not everything but its really need an upgrade, when u see the other games looks and animations u see neverwinter as an old game which is right, last reason for me is marketing, despite all the things i wrote up in reality this game should have more player base then what it has right now. i hope they are aware of these issues and make a solutions on it, while they are working amazingly these past few mods but they need to handle the base issue before keep going on

1) Stigma: On PS, word of mouth has spread amongst players that this game is Pay to Win with predatory Micro-transactions. Once you get that label, many don’t even give the game a fighting chance. 2) Weak Advertisements and Major Competition: Neverwinter on console is facing major blows from New Releases. We have better games to spend our time and money. Cryptic needs to remove whatever barriers are hindering the game from developing into a new gaming experience. New classes, New Stronghold Overhaul, New Enemies with Resistances, New Powers, Paragons, and Feats, Crafting System Rework, etc should not be shelved because they don’t have resources. Prioritize, Advertise, Communicate with Player-base, incentivize monetary gain by selling transmutes not power, or progression. Every day they wait is a day they lose to improve.

Many of the new players I see say they found it while looking for free games or found it through looking up Neverwinter D&D stuff. One of the things that does not help the reputation of the game is when the super saturated with salt bitter ex players keep ranting about about their grudges in various online locations. Yes some things in the past were done badly, yes some things are still bad, but dragging out 5yo grudges to scare away new players does not help anyone. It doesn't help the new players, it doesn't help the game and most of all it isn't healthy for the person holding the grudge

If things are still being done badly, then why should people continue to bother with it? Clearly, the devs know it's done badly and reluctant to do anything about it, which is out of laziness, so if they can't be bothered to make changes and improve the negatives why should players? Even LOTR online have updated their game with improvements which has seen a surge of players, and that's a game which released in 2007, so if such an old game can make such changes then so should Cryptic. Their lazy and greedy and want maximum profit from minimum effort. That's the reality, and if the creators of neverwinter can't be bothered to improve the game, then people will and are seeing this and can't be bothered since there's many other MMOs out there who will better respect and reward players time. Until they change, neverwinter will continue to be average at best

​@Blueblood1270 genuinely would like to know what's being done badly? I know mdwp was a mess on release and orcus still is kinda messy, but besides that can't really think of much else the devs have done badly. They added a ton of new gear, which players have been complaining about variety for a long time, even though most of it is trash. Been dropping new content every 4 months. Nothing on the zen market has been pay to win in a long time besides Regis. They give away a ton of free stuff, personally I don't know what to do with all the bound coal motes I have. I know a lot of players want guild reworks but I'm sure that's coming soon. They've also buffed a bunch of classes and fixed a lot of stuff on them. I've been seeing a lot of good improvements in the game from the devs so would really like to know what's bad still. Easy to say they're bad but harder to actually show proof that can't be disputed.

@@user-kv1ih9lf5e Shield glitch Healer mark bugs/glitches (when you are marked you can't go through doors nor switch loadouts) Belt Item CD making you unable to switch loadouts (10 minute is quite of a long wait in a dungeon) Loadout name bug: When you switch a loadout it automatically changes the name to the loadout you changed to. Makes it really annoying when you have loadouts made for specific content but then all of them are renamed to MDWP for example, so you never know which loadout is which. Interface bugs Dungeon glitches Class visual and mechanical bugs: DPS fighter for example. When your stamina gets completely depleted you exit the block animation and can attack. However, when you get some stamina back the game will automatically put you back in a blocking animation making you unable to attack again. This happens even if you press L3 again to cancel your blocking and it happens mid rotation. There is no option to cancel auto-block. There are just many small things that show how little care it is actually put into the game in order to fix it up properly. These small bugs and glitches show new players where the state of the development really is. Nobody cares about new content when the very core of the game mechanics don't work properly.

I tried to get people to play it; but must of them find the game "tedious", mostly from people that like instant gratification. They don have the patience to learn the mechanics of the character they create and believe that every game should be a "CoD" rip off.

When i tried to bring people in everyone said that wanted to avoid p2w crap. And actually neverwinter brings way more instant gratification that many more famous mmo in the market, as Black Desert, black desert is anything BUT a instant gratification game. The difference is that they keep making their game better and people keep returning and joining it. Neverwinter only try to find more ways to deny people the acess to coal wards and forcing then to pay if there is any desire for any progress.

This game, Neverwinter, is not new player friendly. Especially if you're a f2p gamer. It takes months to get to end game and how many friends will you get to commit to such a grind with games like Diablo 4, Baldurs Gate 3, and Starfield competing for your time. This is always the case even when the name of the new game changes. The player base will not grow anymore no matter what they change or fix with Neverwinter. Besides that, it isn't cross platform. Another problem with trying to get new gamers onboard. It isn't the microtransactions or bugs necessarily, those are present in the majority of games now. Just my opinion. And as a sidenote, I've tried several times to get new players on board with Neverwinter and they aren't into grinding to the top. They get bored just trying to catch up with the existing players...

Well, Neverwinter actually isn't really as much under the radar as many people would believe. People do talk about it. JoshStrifeHayes, a very popular MMO Content creator, has even mentioned it in one or more of his videos. However, what he says is very similar to what many other players that played the game say: Neverwinter is far past its golden age. There was a time when Neverwinter had the potential to become a big title. It also isn't really that Niche when it comes to the fantasy genre. DnD is one of the biggest brands in fantasy. However, the developers just made decisions that missed the mark quite badly. They cut away content with expansions rather than adding new stuff. Many maps, dungeons, etc. where removed to either never see the light of day again or being reintroduced as some groundbreaking new content (Castle Never, I'm looking at you). Then also a lot of changes to things that worked well and usually were replaced with something way worse. Also over the years the games developers have become increasingly more predatory when it comes to the ZEN market or premium items in general. Talking about the ZEN market, that thing is strange as well! Most of the things in the ZEN market can be gained by VIP-Ranks - which most of the playerbase has or had. That leads to a massive flood of premium items making them effectively worthless. There is nothing worth buying in the Zen Shop but boosters or VIP!

While Dungeons & Dragons (D&D) enjoys widespread popularity, the player base of Neverwinter is relatively niche. The game doesn't serve as a stellar representation of the expansive D&D universe. I recall chatting with Josh before his rise to fame, back when he was creating videos for Neverwinter prior to Asmongold reacting to his content on various MMORPGs. Despite influencers like Josh, the game remains somewhat under the radar. Your points are valid and appreciated; I find myself in agreement with much of what you've shared.

I'm beginning to realize the community genuinely does not want any change and are completely satisfied with how things are done. Resistance to anything I've suggested being done is extremely strong, and I'm at the point where I say they get what they deserve. It's as galactic says, these are people with disposable income, yet are bad at math, and just want to sit in their save space wasting time away.

One of the big reason people are not attracted by this game is the fact that , no matter where you try to found something about the game , you will 99% of the time found a video ot something saying " omggg this game is soo p2w its impossible to reach endgame if you dont drop 5 to 10k $ minimum blablablaaa , game is dying anyway blablablaaa ". If i want to play a game and the only thing i can found about the game is almost 100% negative feedback why would i waste my time trying it ?

This is very true, sadly there's some very vocal bitter people out there, and some of them may have good reason to feel bitter, but I can't help but wonder how many who complain about how much it costs do so because they spent that much only to realise that their money didn't get them what they assumed it would so technically it was their faulty assumptions that caused their disappointment rather than the game.

@@radeknosil2950 absolutely, the choice to spend RL money to buyout campaigns we don't find fun so we can focus our efforts on things we get satisfaction from is one I'm glad we all have but that's exactly what it is, a choice. There are some people who spent far more than was probably wise on the assumption that their money was going grant them some kind of permanent advantage over other players when it doesn't, I can understand them feeling cheated but it is also not the games fault they assumed they were getting something more than a shortcut to a moving target

There are two very good things about this game, the combat system and the fact that it's free. The rest all fail. The story is bad, cinematics are bad, all the new modules are overall mediocre at best. They add some interesting things to the game every new module, but that it's like getting the game from 20% to 22%, it's still bad. There is no PvP, there is no balance. There are hundreds if not more bugs. It is almost impossible to bring new players. I tried to bring some friends but as soon as they saw it they said, pass. This game appeals to a very small part of people, first they want to play MMORPG's, be a fan or at least have knowledge of D&D or have played in the past the single player games Neverwinter Nights 1/2 and finally they have to like this bad graphics game and bad story writing. There are too many things that need to happen to bring people here. I honestly play this game, mostly single player even though I have almost 80K item level, I dabble in some multiplayer like RTQ/ RDQ/ and sometimes even RADQ or RC if there are any people in the guild when I am online. Edit: I forgot to mention I think you are right, unfortunatelly.

There were youtubers in the first 1-2 years but now twitch streaming is rare. Even Josh Strife played this game. But he grew bigger on other MMOs I guess. Reasons? -No/minimum marketing. -Specific target audience. Players prolly came from Dnd and not because Asmongold has played this in the last 2 weeks. I have a feeling that Wizard of the Coast is satisfied if they can sell the annual Dnd modules in an mmo game and that's it. They are not targeting to ram into the Mmo market too hard. -There are developments. Gearbox certainly have done something. We had 2 trials 1 dungeon this year! Which is amazing! We are getting dungeons/trials in 3 difficulties. Also amazing. But this is prolly classic "too little too late". Still no sign of pvp in the last 1.5-2 years. Which is a joke in an Mmo. So yeah. Combat system is still very good. Mature, chilled audience. With bigger staff, investment, risk taking and marketing Nwo can be much bigger... Just look at Baldur's Gate 3 streams. Every casual and their mother are playing DnD in that game. They even brought down Diablo 4. Sigh...

Big streamers already covered it, everyone actively ignores Neverwinter cause of the TRASH monetization, Cryptic have one of the worst monetization systems ever made. Every time a new big streamer begin to play it, they LOVE it, until they BEGIN to understand the monetization, usually drop it calling a lot of bad names, and even before discovering coal motes.
