Step into the captivating world of football art with renowned artist Neville Gabie, who will be in conversation with Peter Crump, the Club Historian of the Wolves Museum. This engaging discussion will delve into Gabie’s stunning series of photographs, "Posts," which is featured in the exhibition Football: Designing the Beautiful Game.
For the past 25 years, Neville Gabie has been capturing the essence of football in his unique and thought-provoking series. Unlike typical action-packed football shots, these photographs focus on the simplicity and universality of goalposts in various environments around the world. Gabie's work reflects our innate desire to play and dream, no matter the location or conditions.
As Gabie himself puts it: "With minimal means, these goalposts... encapsulate our dreams and fantasies, and the uniqueness of 'place,' in the language which is universally understood."
Imagine a game played in a street, a desert, or any unconventional space. People’s passion for football transforms these places into fields of dreams.
