I'm happy to see the thermal throttling is less on the 15" Macbook Air and the improved rich bass on the speakers. I would definitely be curious to see how well it performs with the base M2 Pro 14" Macbook Pro (maybe throw in the 16" base to compare the size and speakers as well). Thanks again as always for making these videos that many viewers would want to know. So many other KZbin reviewers never seem to bother going in depth with the long term sustained performance with these laptops and comparisons to other macbooks, and you guys never fail to cover them thoroughly.

I just got the 13.6 M2 MacBook Air with 16 gigs of ram memory, and 512 SSD storage, I kept the 8 core GPU. My first laptop, and I love it. I'm used to Dell desktops, last one I had, had Windows 7 pro with 2T hard drive, cause I used to have a website and build my own web pages. I'm not that impressed with your speaker sound comparison. Yes 15 inch Air is louder, but doesn't sound that much better than the 13 inch. Best sound quality, is on the pro models. For students, the 13.6 Air is very portable. I went to Apple Store in Soho NYC to have them help me set it up. When I put it in the laptop briefcase carrying cross body, no strain on my shoulders. Taking the Mac class next week. Next time you do sound comparison, use Beach Boys Wouldn't Be Nice. One guy on here used heavy metal, was terrible to tell. Also the 15 inch Air was louder, but, sounded muffled, and gravely.

Not how I imagine the comparison would be like. I was thinking of real life usage comparison like MS word, browsing the web, spreadsheets, Google sheets etc, normal office/school tasks. Apple Knows this device might be the best selling mac so they had to tune the cooling better to appeal to the users who need a more "pro" of a mac than the air but without the high price points of the larger sizes. My 13" will get longer battery life and I use ear buds so external speakers mean nothing to me :) I have the 512 model with 10 core.....they are reasonably priced now and Best Buy even better :)

You know what I would really like to know is, how does the 15 inch macbook air do when running games such as world of warcraft or no mans sky vs. a 14 inch macbook pro. These are graphics and cpu intensive workloads that you would run for an hour or more and it would be nice to know how the fanless machine performs under such real world loads

Does anyone notice on the bottom/sides where the bottom piece of the computer meets the sides that it isn’t perfectly flush? It almost like the bottom piece is slightly sticking out and isn’t perfectly smooth/flush. Just wondering since I just got my MacBook Air (15in) today.

Hi, I think that, once again, it's all a question of financial means. For a configuration that I consider to be the minimum, i.e. 16 GB of memory and 512 GB of SSD, we have: - MBA M1 13: €1659 - MBA 15: €2059 - MBP 14: €2399 - MBP 16: €2999 Sorry, but I think that's too expensive.

Nice comparison review! I have the 13”. Not a heavy gamer, intense user, etc. So just keeping the 13”. It does the job fine. If needed, a 16” pro might be better for more business or intense users.

People who want a mac air, now have a choice of a larger screen model. Ideal for web browsing, spread sheets and light video projects or watching movies. Little point adding any better specifications as it will drive price nearer to a whole better laptop like the 14inch. I recently spotted a used mac studio base for £1400 so for another £100 you really have a powerful machine and I'm sure that will outperform this macbook air 15.

You need to do the 16GB and 1 TB upgrade. That’s what I did and it was so worth it.

I'm going to choose 16gb and 512gb. I'm a video editor but I use a 1tb external SSD to edit from (which is much cheaper), so I don't need 1tb. You could even get away with 256gb if you'd like to completely depend on an SSD for something like content creation. To answer your question, the 16gb ram upgrade is much more worth it. I'd say if you do workloads on your computer, you need 16gb

I still don't quite understand memory bandwidth. Is 16gb 100gb/s RAM equal to 8gb 200gb/s?? Is it perhaps how much data can be transferred at once instantaneously, vs how much data is capable of being stored for instantaneous transfer? So you can store 16gb of data but only retrieve 100gb/s, vs storing say 8gb of data but being able to retrieve more of it faster at 200gb/s? This doesn't quite make sense either cuz.. 200gb.. is a lot more than the 8gb that would be stored.. so I must be understanding this wrong.

it's interesting, but all moot. If you wait probably less than a year, M3 will squash both of these, I'm assuming by at least 25% across the board.. graphics, CPU, throttling, and battery life. Well worth the wait. If you're getting by with your current machine, and don't burn money for fun, just wait for the next model.

Don't forget the 70w fast charger is a $20 upgrade on the 13" so it's really just an $80 difference between the 13" and the 15" as you pointed out yesterday and NO ONE should get the dual port charger after you pointed out that it's 17.5w each port when charging 2 devices at the same time; much better to go with the 70w and charge phone through laptop while charging with fast 70w charging as you pointed out yesterday ... long / short after you pointed out ALL of the internal changes Apple made that go FAR beyond just sticking the same board from the 13" into a 15" form factor, it's a new board which you discovered and noted yesterday, ALONG with different throttling and clock speed profiles... it's clear Apple went above and beyond for the 15" and that it is without any doubt an insanely good value .. the only downside is that it really does make sense to upgrade to the 512ssd if one wants the best speed and that sort of pushes you into the price territory of the 14" on sale so, idk but for basic users who are fine with the base model, this is a knockout value I mean just incredible the amount of changes they put into this!!!
