CCM spent over 3 years researching and developing these new shapes. They continuously modified areas around the boot that could possibly present fit problems, until they achieved the perfect balance. Does anyone have experience with the new CCM Fit System? They say it’s supposed to be better, but It seems like now theres fewer options. For instance, I wear a Jetspeed EE, according to the charts, this puts me in the middle “Regular Fit”, however Regular fit also encompasses Tacks D and Ribcor D, which have significantly more volume. How can all three Jetspeed EE, Tacks D, Ribcor D feet all fit into the same boot now?

CCM's new fit system was designed to fit a wider range of players and allowing people to choose a skate based on performance features or the look of the skate and not fit. Before the fit system, if you had a narrow foot you would wear a Jetspeed because they are the most narrow, or for wide feet you'd wear a Tacks because it's CCM's widest fit. Now you can pick the skate you want and adjust the fit to your foot. The regular fit encompasses a lot more foot types, whereas the tapered is a lot more narrow and the wide is quite a bit wider. If you are close to one of our stores, I would recommend going in to get your foot scanned to ensure the proper fit and feel.

I’ve always had a wide foot. CCM has always fit me better than Bauer. That said. Just got new Jetspeeds this year 9 EE and they feel terrible. Came from older Reebok 20k’s and I hate the Jetspeeds. About 15 games in. They were baked and they are still painful to wear. The fit system has me wondering what to do. Last year I would have tried tacks. Now I’m lost.

@@matthewcraig7925 Hi Matthew, If you are in a JetSpeed EE it would have been from the 2019 or previous JetSpeed Family and would fit closer to the new 2021 JetSpeed Regular fit. In the 2021 models you might want to consider the new Wide fit in JetSpeed or if you were leaning towards Tacks the 2020 Tacks in a EE. It is a little confusing now, but next year when the new Tacks are launched the fits will line up better and you will be able to choose between either line and there will be a fit for you. What would a CCM JetSpeed FT475 regular width be in the new bauer fit system? Fit2?

Thats right! CCM's Regular Width is the same as Bauer Fit 2.

Be careful, I just got a pair of FT 2 in 11EE and they’re more narrow than bauer standard (fit 2) …unfortunately have to return them

@@michaeldipasquale8867 The FT2 skates were from a previous generation of JetSpeed skates before the new fit system was implemented by CCM. That being said, there will be discrepancies between the old fits and new fits, and from brand to brand, so our comparisons are all the closest as possible.

i wanna get into skating with some friends but its hard to find a skate i think ill be good in considering im bigger than them

So if I’m used to a jetspeed D width and now want a Ribcor 100K, should I pick the taperd fit?

The new tapered fit is pretty narrow. If you were a JetSpeed D, you would likely be a regular fit in the Ribcor, but it's tough to say without getting your foot scanned. If you're close to a store we would recommend going in to get scanned and fitted, if not, you can always return the skates as long as they're unused.

Hey im trying to buy some new equipments but im really confused on what junior and intermediate means im 13 years old my shoe size is 10.5 but idk what skates i should get intermediate or junior? If u guys can help me out i would really appreciate it

A 10.5 shoe is about a 7.5 or 8 size skate, so a senior skate. Google something like what size skate should I get, and find a size chart. After that do not make the mistake I did and get a type of skate just because that's the one you know and like, or your favorite player wears them. Measure your foot and determine what style will fit, for example I went and got some jetspeeds, they are a narrow fit, and I'm a wider foot, big mistake, even though I got some entry level skates, in the ft670

Typically, for skates you would go down 1-1.5 sizes from your shoe size. If you are a 10.5 shoe, you would be a 9 or 9.5 senior skate. This is a general recommendation. Some players like their skates smaller, so would go down 2-2.5 sizes from their shoe size. If you are close to a Pure Hockey store, it would be beneficial to get your foot scanned to see what size and fit would be best!

Would the heel pocket of a Jetspeed be bigger than Tacks?

The heel in the Tacks would be bigger than the JetSpeed.

@@purehockey CCM told me that the Jetspeeds had a bigger heel pocket than the Tacks so I was confused, cuz they made the Tacks lineup to have more volume and stiffness so it didn't quite make sense to me that the heel pocket would be bigger than a Jetspeed. Thank you for the clarification!

still not right- A truly custom fit would correct fit for total girth - this "new"fit isn't custom- if you have a wide foot, narrow heel and skinny top foot you'd not fit anything still

We do not discuss this being a custom fit. The fit system is designed to allow players to pick a skate based on performance, look, preference rather than your foot shape. Previously, if you had a narrow foot, a JetSpeed boot would fit best. Now you are able to choose from Tacks or Ribcor since they will offer the "JetSpeed" fit in other lines.
